Kimberly-Clark is at the forefront of advancing a transformational Global Privacy Program to ensure that privacy is built into our products and services consistent with our data strategies and corporate values. As Global Privacy Counsel, you will spearhead the Privacy-by-Design Legal Division.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject-matter expertise for data privacy, data protection and cyber security laws (including federal and state consumer protection and privacy laws; GDPR, LGPD, and other global privacy laws) and advise on their impact on Kimberly-Clark's business.

  • Administer Data Protection Impact Assessments and Privacy Impact Assessments with the Privacy-by-Design division and support of regional counsel.

  • Support incident response strategy and collaborate with regional counsel to provide related legal advice and corrective action; assist in evaluating the impact of privacy laws, regulatory guidance and enforcement actions, and other related guidelines on product features and processes; and oversee the development and management of privacy data policies across all Kimberly-Clark products.

  • Advise legal, business, and policy teams on privacy and security-related legal matters, including areas related to partnerships, acquisitions, integrations, and other business development opportunities.

  • Drive high-profile and high-impact projects involving privacy analysis and compliance with stakeholders across the business; and develop and conduct general and role-specific privacy trainings.

  • Update and negotiate contractual terms relating to data privacy and information security; and drive continuous improvements in furtherance of privacy program maturity based on KPIs, audits, and surveys.

  • Administer privacy risk assessments, create privacy risk registers, and support remediation plans in collaboration with privacy champions.

  • Regularly update regional and global leadership on the status and effectiveness of the global privacy program, key risks, and mitigation activities.

As Global Privacy Counsel, you will join the Legal Department and report to the Global Privacy Officer - Associate General Counsel.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • J.D. (or equivalent) and membership in at least one bar. IAPP privacy certification is a plus.

  • 7+ years' experience in privacy legal, ideally within an international law firm or in-house.

  • Strong knowledge of global privacy regulations in Europe, Middle East, Africa, CIS, North America, Latin America, and Asia Pacific.

  • In-depth experience conducting DPIAs and PIAs, with knowledge of privacy regulatory, contracts, and compliance issues.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; adept at prioritizing work and providing advice under deadlines; program and business-minded, with a focus on business enablement; and experienced in translating complex policies and laws into practical business controls.

  • In-depth transformational and leadership experience, gained preferably with an international company, and an ability to inspire and coach diverse teams.

  • Strong decision-making capabilities and keen business acumen in weighing costs and benefits of potential options.

  • Highly motivated with an ability to achieve both open-ended challenges and strictly defined tasks, while being team-oriented with a proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders.

Location: This position would have a hybrid model out of Dallas (preferable), Chicago or Roswell, GA, and requires 20% travel.
