Main Duties and Responsibilities

AstraZeneca is seeking a Global Medical Affairs Leader (GMAL) with oncology expertise and a passion for end-user focused solutions to work in on Lynparza.

This role will require matrix leadership and broad internal cross-functional collaboration with multiple global medical and development teams, marketing team as well as teams in key affiliates. Based on a scientific understanding of the disease area, unmet medical needs, treatment options and medical issues, you will enable the organization to help develop tailored medical solutions.

As the Global Medical Lead you will play a key role in the development of medical strategy and execution of key deliverables to support the launch and lifecycle management globally, working with key markets and other MALs in related tumour types to maximize the synergies across teams.

Therefore it is critical that the GMAL, will be a strong integrator, with demonstrated capability to build networks, lead without authority and to bring together cross functional teams to develop and execute projects delivering end-user focused solutions. Good project management skills is also a must.

An another important element of this role is therefore to develop strategic and long-term partnerships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

You will also be involved in the coordination of above product medical affairs activities in prostate cancer in collaboration with the other Medical Affairs Leaders.

Essential Requirements

  • Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD)
  • At least 5 years total of pharmaceutical or relevant medical/clinical experience minimum.
  • Medical affairs experience in oncology therapy area, including in-market medical affairs, with regional or global experience also being desirable.
  • Proven ability to generate, analyze and interpret clinical trial and published data
  • Track record of successfully developing and executing Scientific Plans both in terms of evidence generation (interventional studies and RWE), scientific communications and external expert engagements
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and products simultaneously to ensure timely, on-target and within budget accomplishment of tasks
  • The candidate is expected to have strong project management skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including development, marketing, and health outcomes.
  • Good communication and presentation skills in English
