Job Description
Global Commodity Manager - Upper Body Structure & Closure Hardware

As a manager, you will be responsible for managing the overall procurement activities, development of sourcing strategy, negotiation of contracts and execution of budget for Closure Hardware and Upper Body Structures. You will provide technical guidance to the team for successful execution of vehicle programs. You will take lead on the development of new products, processes, standards, or operational plans. This position also provides support for the organization's business strategies with a direct impact on business and function overall results.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan
  • Lead business plan/tactics to reach overall global targets on a day-to-day basis
  • Lead global teams in all Regions in developing commodity strategies and sourcing recommendations for specified commodity, considering regional specifics. This also includes early Supplier Engagement and Strategic Sourcing
  • Oversee, monitor and coach employees in different locations and build effective global team
  • Collaborate with Engineering, CCA and other internal partners to clarify prerequisites and to drive cost reduction
  • Optimize supplier footprint
  • Analyze and apply appropriate tools, i.e. cost models, benchmarking, global competitive sourcing, value chain analysis, supplier negotiations, engineering change cost containment, technical cost reduction, part/system reuse, etc.
  • Handle supplier relationships and operational issues

Additional Job Description
Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate will be comfortable with ambiguity, working at a fast pace (GVDP 7.0) and open to new ideas.
  • Close collaboration with 2 other senior commodity managers in Body Structures required.
  • Prefer candidates with demonstrated success as a commodity manager already and seeking additional stretch opportunity with high visibility across multiple GM functions.

Education:
  • Bachelors degree (required) in a business or technical field (preferred); Masters or advance degree in supply chain or business preferred
