The General Manager (GM) is the P&L leader of a designated Area. The GM drives Safety, increases EBITDA and Cash Flow, improves customer satisfaction, and develops the workforce across his or her team. The GM manages the day to day operations of branch facilities and commercial sales activity through a team of Branch Operations Leaders (BOLs) and Territory Sales Managers who report into the General Manager and their respective functional director in a matrixed structure.

**The successful candidate will need to reside in or relocate to Seattle or Portland.**

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Managing Area financial performance - budget development and business plan execution, Area profit and loss activities, Area revenue and operating costs
  • Developing and executings Area growth strategy to achieve annual increases in Units-on-Rent (UOR) and revenue growth from full deployment of Ready to Work Service solutions (Value Added Products & Services (VAPS)) penetration
  • Actively managing and developing outside sales resources to promote prospecting, quotation, and conversion; driving follow-up and customer service across assigned MSA. Conducts weekly and monthly sales meetings to develop sales activities and prospecting goals, and coordinates with the Director of Inside Sales on strategies to execute in the Area. Aligning with Commercial Directors on all sales critical priorities and messaging.
  • Actively managing and developing Branch Operating Leaders to promote optimal fleet utilization, real estate utilization and labor utilization to meet customer demand. Aligning with Operations Directors on all critical operating priorities and messaging.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
    • Advanced degree (MBA) preferred
  • 10+ years of experience managing sales and operations teams across multiple locations
    • Mobile/Modular, Construction Services, Logistics, Equipment Leasing, or related experience is preferred
  • Exceptionally strong financial (P&L) management skills
    • Extensive experience controlling operating costs and monitoring actual vs. budget financial performance.
  • Competency in a wide range of operational areas including fleet, logistics, inventory, scheduling, dispatching; construction experience and knowledge of state/federal requirements, building codes, permitting process, etc. is helpful.
