Position Overview:

In coordination with multiple cross-functional groups across locations, the position will wave, slot, and route customer freight in accordance with all customer guidelines and methods. They will ensure the on-time pickup and delivery of freight and adherence to HBI shipping goals. They will also insure the proper receipt by the customer within given processes. They will also generate all necessary paperwork for shipping and customer use. They will monitor customer orders from inception to customer receipt, monitoring waves for shortages and routing for pickups and delivery to meet shipping goals. Informs operations of potential opportunities, constraints, and troubleshoots for the department. Informs the inventory groups of any inventory accuracy issues to insure they are researched and resolved. Always keeps in mind DC productivity/costs and customer relationships when making business decisions as a Traffic Team.

Releases and prioritizes orders for processing. Create and distribute shipping schedule and log. Coordinates orders and prioritize shipments. Communication accurate shipment details. Must work in concert with the shipping department, SOH department, truck lines and customer service to schedule orders to meet DC and Customer needs. Must maintain direct clear communication with internal and external customers.

Creates shipping documentation including bills of lading. Routes shipments through customer website. Process shipping reports by entering data into spreadsheets and electronic database. Works closely with Logistics providers to assure on-time shipments. Files freight and transportation documentation. Prepares, prints and files all BOL documentation for customer orders. Responds to inquiries regarding status of shipments. Researches and documents any chargeback or customer service issues.

Monitors Receiving Schedules and distribute priority list for unloading daily. Contact for inbound loads and completes receiving reporting.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Above average knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, WM, SAP, PKMS
• Professional communication skills, including verbal and written
• Must be available to work overtime when needed
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet parallel deadlines
• Ability to develop strong skills in planning, scheduling, relationship management, problem resolution
• Solid understanding of distribution functions
• Ability to develop effective relationships and provide information to multiple levels of the business.
