Northrop Grumman's Space Systems Sector, Launch Vehicles Business Unit is looking for an experienced Flight Test Deputy Program Manager (Mgr Programs 2). This leadership role is based out of Chandler, AZ and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Launch Vehicles (LV) Program Manager in executing Launch and Missile Defense Solutions (LMDS) Division's Flight Test scope. The primary objective for this role will be the delivery of all contractual requirements on cost and on schedule, while achieving all technical requirements and creating customer intimacy to support value creation strategies and actions. The individual will lead a cross-functional organization and supplier base aligned to common program performance goals. The role is responsible for the development, test, delivery, and deployment of the GBSD Flight Test scope within program constraints. The Flight Test scope includes elements of the On Board Test Equipment (OBTE) necessary to perform test flights of the GBSD launch vehicle. This includes Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) and Automated Flight Safety System (AFSS).
The Flight Test Deputy Program Manager's primary responsibilities are to execute and manage cost, schedule, and technical performance for all aspects related to this scope including, but not limited to:

  • Supporting daily execution of the Flight Test scope within the GBSD EMD program, reporting to the GBSD LV Program Manager
  • Responsible for the successful operation of program objectives and activities
  • Establishing a program organization that effectively addresses customer requirements and incorporates the necessary internal and external sub-organizations
  • Identification, distribution, tracking, and completion of program requirements


Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Science Degree (BS) and 10 years, or Master's (MS) and 8 years' experience, supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers and/or program management in other industries
  • Minimum 2 years program management experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience presenting to senior leadership and customers
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with GBSD TMRR program operations and USAF ICBM or heritage programs
  • Experience in development and/or delivery of Space or Launch Vehicles
  • Experience in Launch Vehicle Subsystems: Instrumentation, Telemetry, Cables and Avionics
