Job Description Summary

In this position, you will collaborate with cross-functional business partners to provide analysis, reporting, fact-based recommendations and insights that will assist in delivering against stated financial and performance objectives related to trade planning activities and management of Lamb Weston marketing budgets. This position will maintain trade merchandising planned events within our trade planning system and provide ROI analysis of trade events to optimize trade spending while driving profitable business results. You will support the business unit's finance and sales leadership in multiple areas outlined below.

Job Description

  • Support and collaborate with assigned sales team in annual sales planning process including, but not limited to, the following:
    • Base volume forecasting and entry into sales trade planning system (MEI)
    • Post merchandising event true-up of volume and trade spending liability in MEI
    • Moving merchandising/slotting events through event planning lifecycle stages in MEI
    • Closing out events after customer claims submitted
    • Post-promotional event analysis to determine effectiveness and profitability of merchandising events including lift and ROI analysis. Analysis to include recommendations to sales team on event improvement opportunities.
    • Collaboration across Sales, Claims Processors, Trade Marketing and Sales Readiness Coordinators to ensure event and contract accuracy/consistency as well as assistance with claims processing inquiries to ensure spending accuracy and integrity
  • Take lead role in month-end/quarter-end close activities to ensure completion of assigned tasks, including ability to communicate key financial and business drivers, resolve risk and opportunities in a timely matter
  • Provides support to sales team with demand planning forecast
  • Ad hoc syndicated data and shipment analysis as well as development and analysis of KPI's for assigned sales team
  • Proactively identify business opportunities and risks and manage projects using multiple sources of data analysis with little or no supervision
  • Provide financial analysis and models for various requests (customer analysis, mix analysis, A&P ROI analysis, etc.) and proactive recommendations to the sales team required to make profitable business decisions and maximize top and bottom-line growth
  • Provide ad-hoc analytical support to sales organizations and finance teams
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic & Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field
  • 2-3+ years experience with knowledge of accounting and finance principles
  • Superior computer skills required (Microsoft Office - spread sheet, database management, pivot tables, presentations, etc.)
  • Knowledge and understanding of syndicated data tools preferred (IRI, Nielsen, SPINS)
  • Experience with Trade Planning Systems preferred (MEI, TPM, etc.)
  • Ability to quickly learn and use new systems/tools
  • Analytical skills - the individual must be able to perform complicated analysis using multiple sources of data, as well as advanced analysis required to support various teams in their trade and pricing decisions (e.g., structure the problem, collect data, identify issues and present results) with minimal direction.
  • Attention to detail and must love numbers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to interact and persuade individuals levels senior to him or her, as well as actively participate in meetings and group discussions with individuals from various parts of the organization (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Finance)
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills
  • Critical-thinking and creative problem-solving ability
  • Self-starter with the ability to function in a fast paced, dynamic environment with a positive attitude
  • Some travel - up to 10 %

Physical Environment/Demands:
  • Some travel may be required up to 10% of the time
  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment in the course of normal workday
  • Stooping, bending, twisting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate's work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $63,140.00 - $94,700.00
