Job Summary:

Looking for a Financial Analyst who leverages technical abilities to synthesize complex analytical tasks into easily understood data-driven stories to enhance business understanding of current performance and provide forecasting solutions. Responsible for working collaboratively among other talented analysts to apply established and create new analytical processes on diverse datasets to deduce insights and solve real-world business problems around customer, product and market trends and insights that support sustained profitable growth for LexisNexis Risk Solutions. Also ensures that all reporting and analytical responsibilities are completed competently in a timely manner, continually seeks out opportunities to learn new and hone existing technical skills (e.g. writing SQL/code, statistics, machine learning, Python, R, etc.). As a member of the Finance Decision support team, you will be developing and supporting the analytic technologies to give our internal customers flexible and structured access to data that is timely, accurate and actionable. You should be comfortable collaborating in a fast-paced environment, contributing to innovative solutions, and demonstrating meticulousness. You should also be comfortable regularly collaborating with colleagues within the team and our business partners.

In this role you will be expected to work with finance leadership and business leaders to understand the problems they need to solve and design the appropriate solution. You will need to digest new data in order to produce views of our customers, analyze the results, form strategic opinions, and then either publish the data out to all interested teams or work with financial system teams to build out per your requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis to identify opportunities and risk in support of the forecast targets, including analyzing historical and customer cohort data to identify trends and insights
  • Perform customer, market, or product specific ad-hoc analysis on complex data sets
  • Make recommendations for new metrics, techniques, and strategies to improve selection and measurements
  • Enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format
  • Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
  • Make operational best practices recommendations for reporting and analytics to enable the team to scale
  • Manage the ongoing life cycle responsibilities of ongoing weekly/monthly reporting, analyses, dashboards on the key drivers of our business
  • Evaluate new functionality that should be applied to existing reports and dashboards.
  • Prepare and deliver project updates to finance leadership regarding progress and roadblocks
  • Partner with the financial systems and business teams on data prioritization initiatives and partner enablement, including developing materials to communicate to technical and non-technical audiences

Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree.
  • Problem solving and data analysis skills.
  • Proficiency with BI Tools including Microsoft Excel and Power BI to include making charts, data manipulation, pivot tables, creating macros, and visual basic knowledge
  • Intermediary understanding of SQL.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
  • Ability to develop new ideas and creative solutions.
  • Ability to work successfully in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads.
  • Ability to work and deliver end-to-end projects.
