As a Market Development Engineer, you will engage with clients to create technical solutions while identifying and building new business using your engineering expertise. You will be expected to reframe their thinking and build consensus for our partner: Silicon Labs solutions, co-creating value by delivering the freedom to innovate.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides pre-sales and post-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex products, applications, and solutions across all Silicon Labs product lines, with an emphasis on Embedded Wireless portfolio of Solutions.

  • To be the business development authority on selling and driving a team of resources for Silicon Labs Embedded Wireless Solutions.

  • Advise on the implementation of innovative ideas and solutions for assigned clients.

  • Utilize engineering sales skills, techniques and knowledge to help the client decrease time to market, reduce overall system cost and improve end product performance.

  • Utilize a Client Engagement Process to drive design wins to revenue at assigned branches and a list of selected clients.

  • Use insight and influencing skills to offer clients unique perspectives on technology that links to Silicon Labs solutions.

  • Identify key client stakeholders, formulate a trusted- advisor relationship and coach them to build consensus for Silicon Labs solutions within their organization.

  • Contribute and participate within a local and global team environment to successfully develop and implement strategies for assigned clients across all global locations.

  • Communicate effectively with multiple Arrow and Silicon Labs Business Units for technical assistance and provide quantifiable feedback to measure ROI in assigned client investments (solutions and products).

  • Assist launches of new product introductions.

Job Requirements

Engineering Skill Set Required

  • Must have experience selling or developing with 32-bit ARM Cortex based MCUs and 8-bit 8051 MCUs

  • Must have experience selling embedded processor and a knowledge of C/C++, and software debug tools such as Keil, IAR or Eclipse would be very helpful.

  • Able to understand and sell of a wide variation of sensing products: Optical, Temperature, Humidity, Magnetic, and Capacitive.

  • Ability to sell into customers developing complex embedded systems utilizing the following wireless protocols: Bluetooth, Zigbee, IEEE 802.15.4 mesh networking, and proprietary wireless radios.

  • Must be creative and initiative to see a client's needs and do whatever it takes to meet that need including bringing in other solutions and selling engineering services to reduce customers time to market.

  • Must have the ability to engage with the client deep enough to be able construct a system level block diagram of the product being developed and the application of Silicon Labs solutions

  • Must be able to read Schematics, and PCBs utilizing Altium or other tools.

  • System level debug would be helpful with the ability to dig into system level issues to assist clients in identifying the root cause.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience with embedded architecture definition, design, and support, including relevant wireless protocols.

  • 3+ years of experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and signal analyzers.

  • 2+ Experience with a knowledge of embedded systems with 8-bit 8051 and 32-bit ARM Cortex processors

  • 2+ years of experience in semiconductor applications/sales.

  • Strong problem-solving and solution selling skills, with ability to work in a multidiscipline matrixed team environment.

  • Familiarity with communication, industrial and aerospace products and designs are bonus.

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with a strong academic track record.

Annual Hiring Range/Hourly Rate:

$148,500.00 - $181,500.00

Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. The pay ratio between base pay and target incentive (if applicable) will be finalized at offer.
