Job Title: Facility Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

Maintenance technician will complete required PM's and repairs on the facility equipment. Technician is an excellent communicator with excellent follow up capabilities and an astute focus on safety in every assigned job.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains all equipment on the Maximo Asset PM list, air handler units and other equipment.
  • Performs preventive maintenance activities on facility following written instructions. Activities include measurement of wear, replacement of expendables (belts, hoses, fluids, filters) and inspection/evaluation of operating characteristics such as pressure and vacuum.

  • Analyzes findings during PM and recommends changes to and documents PM activities within Maximo. Completes assigned work order and documents completion in Maximo.

  • Completes repairs including rebuilding of pumps, valves, electrical and pneumatic solenoid devices, and air handling equipment.
  • Completes general building repairs. Completes repairs to plumbing system including fixing leaks and stoppages, repairs or replacement of plumbing components.
  • Repairs and maintains lighting components.
  • Performs shift pre-production checks using a checklist to document performance characteristics (i.e., operation modes, pressures, temperatures, RPM, etc.) of facility systems and equipment.

  • Communicates with site lead to ensure all aspects of a work request are understood, that parts must be ordered, or if requested completion date will be delayed for any reason not discovered during the conversion of the work request into a work order.

  • Diagnoses malfunctioning equipment such as transformers, motors, motor starters, MCC panels and circuits, variable frequency drives and replaces damaged or broken wires , cables and components.

Education and/or Experience

  • H.S. Diploma or GED. Prefer Associates degree/certificate or vocational tech training in a relevant field or military occupational specialty.
  • Minimum 5 years related experience or training.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license. An OSHA 10 -hour safety certification is ideal.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and. procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and communicate effectively to team members.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
