Job Summary:

The Fabrication Process Supervisor is responsible for the development and implementation of the overall fabrication strategy for Fecon LLC. This includes the optimization of the overall process and implementation of best-in-class equipment.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements optimal weld processes throughout the factory
  • Defines work elements and optimal process sequence.
  • Works with engineering to improve documentation including prints and other process information.
  • Develops standard work and other job aides as needed.
  • Defines best in class processes and necessary equipment to achieve company objectives including weld automation, fixturing, and laser cutting effectiveness, press break effectiveness, and all other fabrication capabilities.
  • Works with internal and external partners to develop fixturing.
  • Assists in defining preventative maintenance requirements.
  • Assists with defining and implementing the organization's lean strategy.
  • Removes waste and non-value-added time from the weld process.
  • Supports quality improvement and develop error proofing methods.
  • Analyzes and communicates OEE, utilization and productivity metrics with supervisors
  • Leads and facilitates kaizen events
  • Directs supervision responsibilities of the Automation Specialist and 1st Ops Specialist.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn the current weld equipment.
  • Ability to understand written directions in manuals and on manufacturer websites.
The ability to program weld automation equipment is required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as required to complete and maintain records.
  • Strong understanding of lean principles and continuous improvement
Education and Experience:
  • Experience with automation implementation is required.
  • Experience managing the company's type of facilities, equipment, and events preferred.
  • Experience with fixture design and specification is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facilities.
  • Must be able to access all parts of the company equipment.

  • This position is hourly, non-exempt.
  • This is a first shift position. Hours for this position are 5:30a - 4:00p, Monday-Thursday. Some overtime is required.
