The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks an EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR-ACADEMIC SUCCESS CENTER-VMASC to provide strategic leadership of the Vulcan Materials Academic Success Center (VMASC) as well as the planning, coordination, and implementation of academic success initiatives, policies, and procedures. To foster collaborative relationships with faculty, academic departments, and other campus units to enhance overall student success and retention.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assists the Vice Provost with short and long-term planning, implementation and evaluation of academic success efforts.

2. Establishes a shared vision for academic support services.

3. Oversees the office of first-year experience and the academic advising of students with undeclared majors.

4. Leads initiatives in standardizing academic advising systems and protocols to ensure consistent and proactive support for University students.

5. Oversees Federal grant programs (e.g., TRIO, Upward Bound).

6. Collaborates, leads, and participates in problem-solving with colleagues and students.

7. Serves as co-chair on the University's retention and graduation committee.

8. Coordinates and collaborates on planning Student Convocation, Student Success Summit, and other related student activities.

9. Performs other duties as assigned.

(Annual Salary: $99,090 - $120,000)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
