University Hiring Program Eligibility Requirements:

  • University Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in and returning to an accredited degree-seeking academic program in the Fall.
  • Internship Work Period: Must be available to work full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) during a 10-12-week period starting May or June. Specific start dates are shared during the recruiting process.

Primary Function of Position:

We are looking for a candidate who is interested in being immersed in communication, messaging, and thought leadership relating to robotics and AI in healthcare. The candidate will be exposed to best practices in corporate communication and thought leadership, while also being given ample opportunity to influence and contribute to the growth strategy for Intuitive’s executive communication discipline. In addition to a variety of assignments, we will work with the intern to take on a special project of their own design.

Roles & Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for:  

  • Help design the FY23 speaker training curriculum for senior leader spokespeople.
  • Participate in design of search and metadata framework for Phase 2 of the Executive Communication Content Hub.
  • Research and complete a menu of unique Ted Talk presentation topics for Intuitive executive spokespeople
  • Provide organization communication support for the SVP of Corporate Marketing, including writing event recaps, content for the Marketing Connection microsite (including Lesly’s blog), and the monthly ICYMI recap.
  • Enroll in online events where Intuitive executes are keynote and speakers, in order to write session recaps. 
  • Write and edit new spokesperson bios.
  • Design a social media profile process (and template) for select industry luminaries. Create 1-2 sample profiles.
  • As a member of the Executive Speaker calendaring team, participate in discussions and help with calendar coordination activities (e.g., converting weekly events into an exec brief for Office of the President).

Skills, Experience, Education & Training:  

  • Current enrollment in a Communications, Broadcast Journalism, Digital Communications, Marketing, Thought Leadership degree-seeking program at the Bachelor’s or Master’s level
  • Demonstrated interest in advanced communications capability, preferably in robotics and AI in healthcare
  • Positive, results-driven attitude and a resolve to win
  • Self-directed with the ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Able to manage multiple priorities with flexibility
  • Superior verbal/written communication, team-building, and interpersonal skills to work across multiple constituents
  • Strong computer skills: well-versed in MS Office Suite
