More specifically, the Global Propulsion Systems ME Team is driving the future of Electric Vehicle (EV) technology by designing cutting edge manufacturing processes and launching GM's innovative propulsion system programs with excellence. We are looking for a dynamic team of engineers to help us in the pursuit of making manufacturing a competitive advantage.

In this role your responsibilities will be of a technical nature with decisions made within the limits of general practices, policies and standards. Your work will involve complex manufacturing problems including the need to root cause and follow issues to resolve.

Lead Execution Engineer - Ultium Battery Cell

  • This individual contributor / technical expert level process engineer will be responsible for implementing Ultium
  • Battery Cell manufacturing processes, equipment / tooling alternatives, sequence and flow of operations for the
  • effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary for the production of Battery Cells
  • used to support all General Motors Electric Vehicle Launches and Zero, Zero, Zero strategy . Work is performed
  • in the Ultium Battery Cell Production Operations environment where a considerable amount of creativity and
  • initiative is exercised. A high level of independent judgment may be exercised, however work is conducted within
  • a team of several subject matter experts.
Responsibilities:
  • Support and track overall engineering activities
  • Provides technical support for solving manufacturing problems
  • Evaluates product and process change proposals for cost and timing impact
  • Provides technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources as required
  • Writes technical reports / proposals as required
  • Prepares & presents status updates to leadership as required
  • Maintains constant contact with support team from others outside the work group

Additional Job Description

Basic Knowledge / Skills Required:
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplines
  • Demonstrated excellent level of analytical ability and communication skills (oral & written)
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, diverse and significantly complex projects concurrently
  • Demonstrates initiative by reaching beyond work assigned to improve output / efficiency
  • Proven ability in project management skills and ability to teach others
  • Manufacturing Experience Required
  • Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills

Basic Knowledge / Skills Preferred:
  • Battery cell and pack product knowledge
  • Battery cell and pack manufacturing knowledge
  • Program Execution Experience Preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills necessary for meetings and presentations
  • Knowledge in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & MS Planner - Intermediate level
  • Strong interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally
  • Fluent in Korean
Education and Training:
  • Bachelor's degree with a major in engineering or equivalent job-related experience.

Ability to Relocate:

- Position will be located out of Lordstown, OH to begin, and then could relocate to Warren, MI or Spring Hill, TN to support as required.
