General Summary:

This position is responsible for managing Granite Inliner's Equipment Operation Training Program, facilitating all affected personnel receive appropriate training, maintaining verification records and/or training effectiveness for all technical equipment used in the pipe renewal process.

Job Description:

  • Champion the development of task training curriculum for consistently used equipment.
  • Develop and maintain a means of tracking task training that local managers can use and be alerted when training is not completed or expiring if renewal is necessary.
  • Facilitate Granite Inliner's equipment based training program for field operations, providing a centralized, standardized formal training program.
  • Assist in and direct the training of new personnel in proper use and care of industry specific equipment (i.e. train the trainer).
  • Advise/Direct/Support field operations with technical equipment decisions to alleviate production downtime and ensure safety compliance.
  • Partner with equipment, safety, quality, and field operations in developing , policy, training and procedures to ensure equipment is operated safely, maintained appropriately, and team members are updated as necessary.
  • Write training material, including Best Practices and Equipment Safety Alerts.
  • Manage and ensure up to date operating manuals are maintained for all equipment.
  • Promote good relationships with equipment vendors and manufactures to facilitate future product support and training.
  • Recommend equipment application alternatives to minimize production and improve safety and operation efficiencies.
Education
  • BS in Organizational Development/leadership, Business Management or equivalent work experience preferred.
Work Experience
  • 10+ years experience in construction equipment operation and maintenance with 5+ years experience in pipeline renewal equipment field preferred.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Firm knowledge of DOT and OSHA Construction and General Industry regulations
  • Excellent communication ability with people at all levels
  • Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, developing presentations, and scheduling software
  • Experience utilizing Virtual Reality in training.
  • Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Possess practical knowledge of the function, operation, and maintenance of construction equipment
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Group presentation/speaking skills
  • Extensive team collaboration

Physical Demands

This position will require frequent out of town travel, 60% of the time.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
