Your Job

Provide the site with information, training, mentoring, coaching and a personal example of excellence in support of achieving environmental, health, and safety compliance and objectives. Incumbent will work closely with Site Leadership, Operations, Maintenance, Logistics, and Contractors at the Corinth Global Non-Woven Mill.

  • Promote and raise safety awareness throughout the Site by intervening and confronting constructively to ensure safety and environmental standards are upheld. This includes unsafe conditions, acts and behaviors.
  • Participate in the development and adherence to EHS&S standard work
  • Spend time on the floor communicating with teams about asset and mill safety concerns.
  • Set a good example - follow safe work procedures - benchmark and promote "Best Practices".
  • Audit, document, report, initiate and drive corrective actions to completion for EHS Events and Procedures to include: incident investigations, evacuations and planned inspections.
  • Manage EHS records for the purpose of reporting, collecting data and trending of accidents/incidents, near misses, property damage and/or other EHS Events.
  • Improve team member capability and team performance by conducting regulatory training, developing safe work procedures, conducting audits, participating in EHS assessments and Activities, performing task observations, and initiating and leading key safety improvements.
  • Participate and if necessary, lead accident/incident investigations and risk assessments.
  • Act as site secondary contact in place of the Environmental Health Safety and Sustainability Leader conducting site environmental audits when needed, acting as a resource point of contact for outside agencies and facilitating consultative services in support of required permitting processes.
  • Act as a secondary point of contact for site Waste Handling to include Hazardous Waste disposition and removal with associated requirements.
  • Own applicable KC EHS Performance Standards to ensure Program level adherence, identification and subsequent corrective actions of identified gaps.
  • Lead EHS Teams/Committees as required, including the development of People Centered Safety process
  • Prepare and present safety presentations.
  • Participate in the Mill's New Hire Onboarding Process
  • May require occasional travel to meetings and training.
  • Must be able to communicate to both Kimberly-Clark and contract labor on a routine basis.
  • Be an EHS presence on the floor during routine operations and also maintenance down/projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have knowledge of all manufacturing safety, housekeeping and quality systems and programs.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Suite and ability to understand, navigate, and use existing systems
  • Effective oral and written communication, interpersonal, and record keeping skills
  • No safety incidents over past 12 months.
  • 2 years experience OR Degree for safety and environmental administrative management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-driven and able to meet objectives with minimal direction.
  • Demonstrated ability effectively influence others.
  • Demonstrated capability to learn new skills.
  • Active engagement in mill and team activities (i.e. meetings, recognition events, safety functions, etc.)
  • Safety or Environmental experience or certification.
  • Proficient computer skills with ability to learn new systems and software.
