Position: Enterprise Regulatory Manager

Department: Legal

Work Locations: El Paso, TX, Dallas, TX, Marlborough, MA, Hybrid (work 3 days onsite)

Hybrid Schedule: Helen of Troy associates enjoy the advantages and flexibility of a hybrid working model, allowing for in office 3 days minimum, and remote 2 days. Any changes to this working model would be communicated accordingly.

What you will be doing:

The Enterprise Regulatory Manager will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our business operations from regulatory risks. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing effective compliance strategies including proactively supervising the evolving regulatory landscape, and orchestrating initiatives supporting business units to ensure we consistently meet all applicable regulations across our global operations.

  • Work closely with our team of regulatory specialists in our business units in analyzing regulations, identifying compliance risks and potential impact to the business and proposing compliance strategies.
  • Liaison with partners, primarily, with our business unit regulatory teams, subject matter experts and in-house legal team, secondary, including regulatory agencies, industry associations, as and when needed, on regulatory matters.
  • Partner with our sales teams to detail current and emerging customer/retailer requirements.
  • Inform/educate the regulatory teams and supply chain leaders and partner with them to propose a strategy on how to manage the regulation.
  • Convene working groups as and when required to regularly advise and address regulatory concerns.
  • Cultivate a strong culture of compliance within the organization through effective communication, training, and awareness programs.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify emerging or alternative materials that can be used for our products and packaging, working closely with regulatory, engineering, product, and packaging teams to provide them with required technical information for implementation.
  • Educate, develop and implement an environmental claims process, working closely with the supply chain, marketing and sustainability teams in the business units.


Skills needed to be successful in this role:
  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment + matrixed organization
  • Ability to find solutions balancing risk and opportunity
  • Strong analytical skills with strong problem-solving skills to develop and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage and influence across various levels of the organization.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Paralegal diploma or Bachelor's degree in the Sciences or Policy
  • 5+ years' experience providing regulatory guidance and translating guidance into actionable and non expert language
  • Experience working in a quality, engineering or sustainability role
  • Willingness to undertake some travel, especially in Mexico
  • Willingness to be trained on HELE's requirements and expectations
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing and the supply chain process
  • Experience in a consumer goods company
