As a vital part to our engineering design team, you will be responsible for building and testing electronic assemblies for our fast-growing sensing business. Day to day activities include soldering PCBs, designing and performing product qualification tests, working with test labs, component evaluation, and more. As the team technologist, each day will present new and exciting challenges.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain product test equipment
  • Create and execute qualification test plans for new products using test lab equipment such as a thermal chamber, shaker table, and HALT test machine
  • Maintain sensor test platforms on robots and vehicles
  • Work with product certification facilities (FCC, CE, IC, etc)
  • Work with environmental test labs to certify products to industry standards (Ingress Protection, Salt Fog, Vibration, Thermal Shock, EMI/EMC tests, etc)
  • Create and modify Bill of Materials (BOM) and manufacturing documentation
  • Continuously learn about our products and understand how they are used by customers

Required Competencies
  • Ability to use electronic test equipment, including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, function generators, etc.
  • Experience soldering surface-mount electrical components
  • Ability to read and understand schematics
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical prints
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Excellent general technical skills - electrical and mechanical
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Required Qualifications
  • Required, A.S. in electronics or related technical discipline
  • Preferred, B.S. degree, preferably in an engineering field (mechanical, electrical) from an accredited university

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with PCB design software, such as Altium
  • Programming experience with Python, Labview, or C++
  • General machining skills
  • Understanding of PCB design and development process (schematic capture)
  • Familiarity with 3D printing
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD modeling
  • IPC J-STD-001 Certified IPC Specialist
