Job Title: Engineering Technologist Intern

Welbilt's internship program is designed to expose individuals to all phases of the foodservice equipment value chain and will take place in Shreveport, LA.

  • Strengthen professional skills in the areas of - design conceptualization, functional requirement specifications, detailed mechanical design, equipment manufacturing, improved product development team activities, design for manufacturing and design for serviceability

Welbilt is looking for an Engineering Technologist to work on various projects with different teams alongside engineers as they develop solutions to meet challenging customer needs.

Projects/responsibilities may include:
  • Design, develop, prototype, test and implement improvements to new or existing products using established programs and operating systems
  • Assist Engineering team with high priority projects to achieve team goals, such as: designing new mechanical components, fabrication and integration of prototype, and verification testing

Program Qualifications:
  • Must be currently enrolled and pursuing an associate degree in the field of Industrial Technology.
  • Knowledge or experience working with operating systems, such as: Solidworks and Microsoft Office. Other valuable experience - Pro/E, Creo, Windchill, AutoCAD, or other 3D CAD package, Labworks, Arduino/C++ software, heat transfer/fluid mechanics, and electric circuits.
  • Working environment - Normal office and lab conditions with extended periods of sitting or standing. Must be able to lift up to 30lbs.
  • Schedule - Normal business hours; up to 30 hours per week
