Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently searching for an Engineering Manager (EM) for its Industrial Power group, Amec Foster Wheeler Industrial Power Company, Inc., with offices in Pittsburgh, PA and Roswell, GA.

Main Responsibilities

• Approve engineering Scope of Services and Scope of Work and assist in ensuring overall project scope is performed and project objectives are met.
• Ensure that changes to project scope are controlled by the use of the project change management process.
• Prepare and manage the engineering aspect of the project management plant (PMP) and associated procedures, instructions and forms (PIFs) and assist the project manager in the timely preparation, approval and effective implementation of overall project-specific PMP and PIFs.
• Approve all project discipline design criteria and engineering specifications and standards for use on the project.
• Ensure engineering compliance with the design basis.
• Prepare work plans, schedules and budgets in conjunction with the discipline leads for submission to the project manager for approval.
• Monitor engineering man-hour usage and progress.
• Develop and manage a plan for production of engineering documentation and computer aided design.
• Ensure that engineering work on the project is completed in accordance with project health, safety, security and environment (HSSE), risk management engineering plans, and the Amec Foster Wheeler quality management system (QMS).
• Ensure that copies of obsolete or superseded documents are not used on the project.
• Ensure engineering deliverables meet requirements for quality, content, presentation, detail and accuracy.
• Keep the Project Manager/Director apprised of difficulties and issues that arise on the project.
• Establish and facilitate the means of coordination of engineering work between disciplines and between the engineering group and other functional groups.
• Take corrective action where necessary through the Area Engineering Manager to control engineering work within the budget and on schedule.
• Convene and chair project engineering coordination meetings.
• Support project director in ensuring project requirements for permits, licenses and regulatory agency approvals are met.
• Prepare monthly engineering progress reports, approve technical reports and provide input into overall reporting requirements for project.

Skills / Qualifications

• Registration as a PEng is mandatory with 10+ years of extensive experience in structural and / or process engineering. Specific experience to the industrial power and air pollution control would be an asset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment while being a self-starter
• Must be able to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and work with minimum supervision
• 10 years' experience in the management of multi-discipline engineering teams
• Experience in project execution utilizing emote and virtual teams is essential
• Authorization to lawfully work in the United States without sponsorship from Wood is required
