Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently searching for a talented Engineering Intern for our Mechanical Engineering team to support our Process & Chemicals / Offshore group in the Houston, TX office. The Engineering Intern will assist engineers and other Group personnel in developing and delivering work scopes. The internship duration is expected to be approximately 12 weeks.

Due to the nature of the role, Wood will be considering local, qualified candidates first (Wood will not assist in relocation).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in defining concepts and engineering designs of equipment and systems
  • Assist with the preparation and checking of engineering reports and procedures
  • Interact with department members to ensure that work is produced and issued in a timely manner and project information is distributed amongst them
  • Contribute to lessons learned exercises
  • Establish good rapport and build relationships with peers and clients by responding to requests and communicating information in a timely manner
  • Comply with all company policies including safety policies


Skills / Qualifications

  • Working on a Mechanical Engineering or related degree
  • Previous internship experience in Oil & Gas a strong asset
  • Excellent communication (written and spoken) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong analytical and trouble shooting skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and flexible environment
  • Must be US Citizen or authorized to work lawfully in the US, without sponsorship from Wood
