RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce is hiring an aspiring Engineer or Engineering Intern for our enterprise research and development client in San Diego, California (CA). This position will be onsite, but our clients has set up strict social distancing protocols. Summary: As the newest aspiring Engineer on the Research & Development team, you have an option to work part-time during your degree program or full-time, based on your graduation status and workload. We are looking for someone who is collaborative, eager, willing to think innovatively, help the team perfect processes and solve problems, and add value to a very high-performing team in a commercial R&D environment while working on exciting and cutting-edge projects.The Engineering Intern will be responsible for setting up testing and test execution, communicate with other Engineers and stakeholders, input data and write reports on findings. As the newest member of the team, you will be hands-on with the Orthotics team, assemble prototypes, change out fixtures, and suggest improvements. This is an entry-level position for anyone who is passionate about beginning a career in engineering.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • The Engineering Intern must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in an Engineering-related discipline, or have recently graduated from an Engineering Bachelor's program (we may consider candidates who have undergraduate experience in an Engineering-related field, but are not actively enrolled on a case-by-case basis)
  • Experience with precise data entry (could be in Excel or other databases,) data analysis, and experience drawing conclusions from that data to be able to effectively report data to stakeholders
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication
  • Attention-to-detail is very important
  • Engineering Intern must have testing experience (experience can be in undergraduate coursework)
  • Shift flexibility is needed to support various engineers' needs (could be mornings or afternoons)
  • Computer proficiency in the following: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
  • Metrology/measurement experience is highly preferred
