BC Forward is currently looking for Engineer Product I

Position Title: Engineer Product I
Location: Morrisville, NC 27560
Expected Duration: 7+ months
Estimated Start Date: 3/15/2024

Job Type: Full-Time 40-Hour Contract, Onsite
Pay Rate: $39/hr on W2 (must be able to work on W2 without sponsorship)

Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).

Performs basic product design, testing, and/or analysis work for a defined portion of a project.
Operates in a team environment, providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews.
Develops recommendations within established guidelines; work and decisions are reviewed by supervisors before implementation.

Duties:

• Applies existing applications to routine problems.
• Produces and/or evaluates possible design solutions to improve cost, quality, and performance based on specialized knowledge of engineering applications.
• This may include the possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management, and/or supplier personnel.
• Analyzes assignments and determines engineering specifications that must be fulfilled for routine problems or projects.
• Compiles and furnishes necessary information (engineering decisions and reports of pertinent design analyses data) to document the design solution required for the building of prototypes and the adoption of the design with the possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management, and/or supplier personnel.
• Learns and applies company engineering policies and practices; learns company products.
• Executes a test or analysis plan for product verification and validation.
• Perform functional testing and analysis of the electric drive systems consisting of electric machines, power electronics, control systems, wiring systems, and related systems.
• Work with platform vehicle engineers to translate customer needs and platform vehicle requirements into electric drive system and component requirements, considering performance, cost, quality, schedule, diagnostics, environmental requirements, and applicable industry standards.
• Develop electrification subsystem test plans in conjunction with application engineering.
• Execute product testing through technology delivery, integrated system delivery, and formal product delivery processes.
• Collaborate globally with engineers, vehicle platforms, consultants, Intelligent Solutions, and suppliers for system and component analysis, design, development, and verification.

What Skills You Need?

• 2 or more years of product engineering or PV&V test engineering experience.
• 1 or more years of work experience relating to the design or testing of electric drive systems and components, including power electronics and electric machines
• 1 or more years of work experience related to product development processes.
• Excellent communication and listening skills. Written communication requirements include generating product/system requirements documents of significant magnitude, creating technical reports suitable for long-term archiving, and creating presentations.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%.
• What Makes You Stand Out
• Work experience relating to the design or testing of agricultural hydraulic, electric, drivetrain, or powertrain components.
• Experience with agricultural products such as Planters, Seeders, combiners, Tractors, Sprayers, etc.
• Advanced technical degree in electric drives or other engineering technical disciplines

Education
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline
