HYG is looking for an energetic individual who will have a positive influence on the organization and the Product Development team. As a Fuel Cell Engineer, you will have responsibility to ensure designs are robustly tested for efficiency, performance, and durability. You will also interact with all aspects of the organization, including marketing, manufacturing, service, procurement, and design. Responsibilities:

  • Develop, design, release, and follow up development activities to ensure that the engineering outputs meet the quality, reliability, performance, and cost expectations of the customer.
  • Collaborate and provide support to the Manufacturing, Sourcing, Marketing, and Aftermarket groups engaged in the project.
  • Develop system and component level requirements from truck level requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with fuel cell component suppliers to ensure successful system integration.
  • Support development testing to ensure design robustness to requirements.
  • Analyze data and communicate test results both verbally and through written reports.
  • Provide technical leadership to junior engineers.
  • Lead occasional short-term projects.

Qualifications:
  • Formal education with a minimum BS in Engineering. Advanced Engineering degree preferred.
  • 5+ years industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management coordinating development, release, and implementation activities including scheduling, supervision, and tracking.
  • Innovative thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to Quality: Follow established procedures and be attentive to details to ensure accuracy in design and documentation.
  • Decision Making: Exhibit good judgment and a realistic understanding of issues; demonstrate ability to take decisive actions to develop product.
  • Systematic Problem solving: Demonstrate ability to apply basic principles and methods to resolve product issues.
  • Teamwork and Flexibility: Function well in a team environment by collaborating with other employees and other departments. Solicit opinions from coworkers, support group decisions, and display team spirit. Be open minded and flexible enough to work effectively in an environment where project priorities may shift in response to customer needs.
  • Knowledge of Control Systems and experience in Matlab/Simulink preferred.
