The Employee Relations (ER) Lead strives to eliminate and mitigate the Firm's employee-related risk by proactively identifying workplace trends, providing insights, and consulting with leaders to solve systemic problems. Will create, maintain, and evolve programs and policies that support positive work environments which inspire ZS to perform their best. The Employee Relations Lead will be responsible for conducting complex, ER investigations (claims of discrimination, harassment/bullying, hostile work environment, retaliation, inappropriate management practices). The Employee Relations Lead will partner closely with the Legal Team to provide guidance and advice on sensitive, complex matters. Initiates and sponsors the implementation of ER strategies to enhance employee experience, leader development and drive organizational and operational effectiveness. Acts as an employee relations subject matter expert providing expertise on current processes and policies to stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates appropriate resolution of complex investigations and minimizes legal, reputational, and/or media risk to the Firm. Ensures we accurately diagnose risk factors, identifies key issues, and consistently applies policy/procedures in treatment of employees throughout investigations and resolutions.
  • Applies risk management concepts, identifies and analyzes legal and compliance risks and ensures appropriate input, consultation, notification and/or escalation.
  • Leads debriefing process with stakeholders at all levels of the organization on sensitive ER matters.
  • Continuously monitors situations to ensure resolution with minimal exposure to the Firm.
  • In partnership with the Legal Team, responsible for the leading, developing and improving the Firm's investigative processes in alignment with Firm policy, applicable employment law and/or employment trends.
  • Creates, reviews and/or approves communications around resolution of employment matters (dispute resolutions, complaints).
  • Identifies risk data trends, analyze/interpret data and make recommendations for continuous improvement. Influences and follows best practices.
  • Develops and manages training regarding best practices as well as methods for the resolution of employment-related concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree or a JD is a plus)
  • 5 to 8 years relevant work experience, preferably in a multinational/global professional services setting (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Proven attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Experience in laws, regulations, and case law pertaining to EEO
  • Extensive knowledge of HR policy, theory, and practice
  • Must be able to manage multiple cases and priorities and make sound decisions quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to establish key relationships with HR business partners and business leaders and develop strong credibility
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to proactively and continually collaborate with the business and broader HR team
  • Experience in interfacing with international audiences and cross-office teams
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and work with highly sensitive data and information
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to multi-task while working against tight timelines

ZS is a global consulting firm. Fluency in English is required; additional fluency in at least one European or Asian language is desirable.
