SUMMARY

The Electronics Equipment Technician II provides technical support on a daily basis in a training or functional environment including, but not limited to, preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, system installation, removal and configuration, troubleshooting, reporting inventory and quality management system support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Applies comprehensive knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.

Perform tasks to include a wide array of complex and varying assignments and understand new technologies and methods that require the application of technical knowledge.

Applies judgement to the planning work sequence and in selecting tools and testing instruments, as well as provide familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits.

Performs testing utilizing Oscilloscopes, Digital volt/ohm meters, and other test equipment.

Performs fact finding and analysis, as required, to address a single activity or a routine problem, and apply established procedures where the nature of the system, feasibility, computer equipment, operating system and programming language have been decided.

Conducts research on routine user problems and solve them by modifying the existing system when the solutions follow clear precedents.

Assists higher level technicians and provide guidance to lower level technicians.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability.

Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance with all applicable rules (federal, state, local, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Code of Federal Regulations, Prime Contract requirements, etc.) for themselves and the company as a whole. Fosters an environment in which they will report any violations or reasonably suspected violation of CNI policy, FAR, and/or CFR and are comfortable discussing the myriad compliance, conflict, FAR, CFR, etc. issues that arise during the performance of a government contract.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or General Education degree (GED) and a minimum three (3) years relevant experience; or a Associates degree and a minimum of two (2) years or relevant experience. Bachelor's and a minimum of one (1) years or relevant experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGRISTRATION

This position requires possession of or the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance

JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

Possess a high degree of electronic knowledge.

Electronic training and experience.

Computer networking, Strong computer skills .

Automation: Computer software, hardware, and networking system training and experience utilizing computer operating systems such as Solaris, AIX, Linux, Unix, and Windows. NAS Automation systems include: Enroute Automation System (EAS), Enroute Communications Gateway (ECG), Display System Replacement (DSR), and Tower Simulation System (TSS). Terminal systems include, Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS), STARS Elite, Runway Status Lights (RWSL), Fiber Optics.

This position requires knowledge and experience performing hardware maintenance, including replacing and/or repairing hard drives, motherboards, video cards, RAM, CPU, monitors, power supplies, network cards, printers, and other peripherals.

Evening shift may be required in support of the FAA Academy training environment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to accurately log incident tickets. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to compute complex Algebraic computations correctly. Successful completion of an FAA math refresher training course is mandatory to maintain employment.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Seldom lifting of office supplies weighing up to 20 pounds, as necessary. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
