Position Summary

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must have ten (10) years' experience in plant electrical work.
  • Must be able to interpret electrical diagrams for circuits, motors, and all other electrical equipment in the plant.
  • Must be able to create electrical schematics and one-line diagrams.
  • Must be familiar with and able to use all electrical testing equipment used in tracing problems in plant electrical system, and be able to satisfactorily solve these problems using said equipment.
  • Must have the ability to maintain the different instrumentation equipment.
  • Must be capable of working without close supervision, and of specifying and installing electrical equipment properly sized so as to conform to good safety practices consistent with use of said equipment near the rated capacity.
  • Must be willing to assume responsibility for entire electrical projects, consistent with good and safe work practices as are necessary in the electrical trade.
  • Must have a high computer literacy and be able to program computer software, operating systems, communication devices. Must have installation, repair, configure, and programing knowledge of HMI, PanelView, RSView32, and Factory Talk SE.
  • Must have high networking aptitude. Must be able to use and troubleshoot data highway, TCP/IP protocol, ControlNet protocol, and Modbus protocol.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot, program, and install Controllogix processors, motor protection relays, variable frequency drives, soft starts, and SLC processors.
  • Must show a high electrical systems aptitude, including troubleshooting controls, fabricating/retrofit electrical panels, and all other applications.
  • Must show a high electro-mechanical aptitude, including AC/DC motors, starters, and relays.
  • Must show a high machine controls aptitude including circuit boards, photo eyes, electrically operated valves, limits, proximitiy switches, and pyrometers.
  • Must maintain good housekeeping in work areas, and obey all safety rules.
  • Must be cooperative and work well with other groups within the plant.
  • Must be capable and willing to instruct Class A and C electricians in the performance in which they are working.
  • Must be capable of performing day-to-day troubleshooting of plant electrical issues.
