Child Health Specialty Clinics is a community-based public health agency that serves children and youth, birth through 21, who live in Iowa and have or are at an increased risk for a chronic condition, and have a need for special services. Chronic conditions can include physical, developmental, behavioral and or emotional issues. Services are provided through family to family support, care coordination and clinical services.

Required Qualifications:
A Master's degree is required. A Master's degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) is preferred. If Master's degree is in a related field, a Baccalaureate degree in nursing is required.
Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by the date of hire.
Current certification in specialty area and licensure as ARNP in Iowa is required by the date of hire.
Minimum of five years of experience as an ARNP.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated experience in pediatrics or knowledge of pediatric patient care.
Demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment or promoting a diverse environment.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as in a group setting.
Ability to travel between clinic locations on a regular basis. Requires valid driver's license plus the ability to meet and maintain the University of Iowa Fleet Safety standards.

Desired Qualifications:
Management and supervisory experience is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage the care of children and young adults with special health care needs (including developmental disabilities, behavioral concerns and serious emotional disorders) is highly desirable.
Certification as Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Primary Care (PNP-CP), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) is highly desirable.
Previous healthcare experience in pediatrics
Experience prescribing medication used in behavioral health care.
Experience in developing and implementing pediatric care plans and providing care coordination, preferably working with children with special health care needs and their families.
Experience working with public health programs, preferably programs serving children with special health care needs.
Experience in public speaking and community outreach.
