Job Description

• Perform small scale purification studies to support manufacturing processes.
  
• Preparation and operation of chromatography systems for small scale purification experiments.
  
• Perform basic laboratory support work such as preparation of solutions, sample submission, and equipment calibration.
  
• Statistically analyze and review large data sets and draft technical reports to support studies.
  
• Collaborate on a small team to come up with new ideas and innovative solutions.
  
• Take lead on executing the purification of projects and perform project management duties.
  
• Coordinate with a broader scientific team to align on lab activities and processes.
  
• Comply with all GxP standards, GHS policies, and current written procedures and protocols.
  
• Present on technical topics during cross functional meetings.
  
• Work in a fast-paced lab environment.
  
• Balance multiple projects and tasks, prioritize and execute them independently, while communicating with all impacted parties.
  

Leadership responsibilities

• Supports and monitors performance of team of analysts, including coordination of work assignments.
  

• Participate in new hire interviews.
  
• Supports the on-boarding process of new employees.
  
• Participates in training of other employees.
  
• Executes performance reviews and delivers feedback to employees.
  
• Ensures proper time management and workload requirements of team are met.
  
• Engages in leadership development trainings.
  

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast paced and collaborative team environment.
  
• Can take on new and sometimes ambiguous challenges, learning quickly.
  
• Experience with Microsoft suite (word, excel, powerpoint).
  
• Experience in a lab environment.
  
• Basic understanding of chromatography processes.
  

Must have a BS/BA in life sciences/engineering or related field.

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:30pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Rensselaer, NY are encouraged to apply. Pay is between $26-32/hr, level is determined based on qualifications relevant to the role.
