  • providing flight crew equipment and integration services to and from the International Space Station (ISS),

  • providing support and products for spaceflight operations capability development and execution of the ISS, Orion, and Commercial Crew missions,

  • providing spaceflight and ground hardware and software, sustaining engineering functions, payload integration, and research mission integration and operations services required by the ISSP, and

  • developing and delivering food for the ISS crew and designing future food for long duration missions

Leidos has an opening for a Division Manager, NASA Portfolios. This position will provide oversight and leadership to execute and implement strategy, support services and overall contractor activities and deliverables for the NASA Programs Portfolio. In partnership with business development, this position will provide guidance and act as a primary contact for all NASA Centers to enable and drive growth of today's portfolio of over 400 employees. The ideal candidate will live near NASA Headquarters, or NASA JSC.

Grow:

  • Review pipeline, work with BD, and execute an aggressive growth campaign across all NASA centers.

  • Responsible to develop and successfully execute the portfolio growth strategy

  • Make timely portfolio growth decisions consistent with delegations

  • In conjunction with PMs and BD/Capture Managers, ensure processes are in place to provide consistent approach and support to growth activities including specifically ensuring talent and resources are provided in a timely manner

  • Represent Leidos to customers and other business to build relationships to enable and sustain growth

Execute:

  • Support the NASA Programs' program managers (PMs) and teams to achieve the highest performance possible

  • Report directly to a Leidos Senior Vice President. Provide timely insights and information to ensure proper communication to the executive team. Document activities, decisions, and information in weekly report in designated format and by the deadline. Coordinate, integrate and provide timely responses to actions flowed from senior leadership. Participate in Monthly/Quarterly Operations Review.

  • Understand and ensure effective management of individual programs' financial performance and communicate accurate forecasts for the portfolio. Support PMs in making decisions and taking actions to achieve/exceed Annual Operating Plan.


Differentiate:

  • Coordinate/support the NASA Strategic Account Executive to build the Leidos brand across the NASA customer markets

  • Identify participation in customer-market events (conferences; dinners; sponsorships) to secure funding within annual budget limits. Build Leidos brand through support of community initiatives

  • Demonstrate support for small businesses, particularly at NASA centers with active pursuits. Develop relationships with small businesses chosen as strategic marketing partners and/or participate in mentor protégé program

  • Develop relationships with local colleges and universities for recruiting purposes and demonstrate support of STEM programs

Engage:

  • Lead with integrity, connect with your team, and focus on high employee morale

  • Be visible; communicate and recognize individuals and teams across the portfolio including annual bonuses, awards, and recognition events

  • Listen; mentor leaders and high potential employees

  • Provide growth opportunities for high potential employees including participation in corporate initiatives (e.g. Emerging Leaders) and training

Typical Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and 12 years' experience, or a Masters degree and 10 years' relevant experience.

  • Experience overseeing multi-function project teams

  • Balanced business/technical background; sufficient level of technical background to provide highly-credible leadership to development teams and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues

  • Ability to provide leadership to business analysts and collaborate with customers and develop strategies and solutions of high business value

Preferred Experience:

  • Relevant and current experience with NASA programs with strong relationships within the NASA community

  • Extensive existing relationships at one or more NASA Centers with particular interest in GSFC experience

  • Experience with NASA Mission and/or Services programs and projects

  • Experiences in business capture activities either as a contractor or at the government

  • Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building

  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with individuals at all levels including the executive level

  • Creative approach to problem-solving; ability to focus on details while maintaining a broader perspective

Must be able to pass a Public Trust background investigation.
