Reporting to the VP Human Resources, the Director, Talent Management will develop and execute the talent strategy for Blue Cross of Idaho to align with the culture and needs of the organization. The Director of Talent will be responsible for effectively leading the talent management processes such as assessment, performance management, succession planning and leadership development to ensure we have the next level talent available to serve our members.

This position is located at the corporate headquarters in Meridian, Idaho. A hybrid work schedule is supported. #LI-Hybrid

To be considered for this opportunity, you need:

Experience: 10 years' progressive human resources experience including talent management, performance management and/or relevant experience to include leadership experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience (Two years relevant work experience is equivalent to one-year college)

To be successful in this role, you have:

  • Experience leading a team with a solid understanding of talent management and talent development programs
  • Ability to be strategic and tactical when making decisions
  • Ability to be analytical and able to interpret data to inform decision making
  • Ability to influence employees at all levels to support the talent strategies
  • Experience delivering engaging employee training programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Resourceful when identifying the right external vendors to partner with to drive development initiatives that are within budget and align with the company culture
  • Experience designing and implementing engagement surveys, development and talent programs

In this role, you will:
  • Create and implement the talent strategy for Blue Cross of Idaho that aligns with the culture and needs of the organization
  • Develop effective strategies for identifying skill gaps within the workforce and how to best address those gaps (training, projects, seminars, mentoring, etc)
  • Own, create and implement employee development programs such as high potential programs, mentor programs and manager training programs
  • Oversee the performance management system and process and link results to employee development initiatives.
  • Design talent review and succession planning processes and work with HRBP's to implement
  • Build and roll out individual development plan materials
  • Work with leaders on development options for high potential talent (both internal and external) to improve skill and/or knowledge gaps
  • Design and implement rotational management training programs
  • Partner with HRBP's and Talent Acquisition to design and implement a structured onboarding program for new hires
  • Embed culture and values into talent initiatives such as performance and talent management, succession planning, and development
  • Help define the company's Employee Value proposition and create a plan for embedding it in both internal and external communications and platforms
  • Conduct periodic engagement and pulse surveys and report results to the organization. Provide systems that allow for action plans and measurable results.
  • Apply data from various sources (exit interviews, stay interviews, org health, pulse surveys) to inform and support development initiatives
