Position Summary

The Director, Talent Acquisition will manage and coordinate organization-wide efforts to ensure that talent acquisition priorities align with ongoing strategic imperatives. In this role she/he will design and implement programs that truly enhance the candidate experience in sourcing the best talent. Success will be achieved through an intense partnering with each HRBP and hiring manager, to change our approach to acquire Talent in a meaningful and sustainable way. Reporting to the VP, Talent Management and Global Functions and to the Value Center VP HR, this role is domiciled in our Industrial Process Value Center in Seneca Falls, NY.
Essential Responsibilities

  • Design and implement programs closely supporting HRBP and hiring managers in their practices e.g., enhance the hiring experience, onboarding, enhancing DEI, enhancing job profile and job descriptions that go to market
  • A key user of our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), s/he will monitor performance of our candidate experience, understanding and replicating best practices, improve where performance lags
  • Point of contact of our search engine partners for the Value Centers globally, s/he will ensure that recruiters or HRBP leading recruiting use search engines to their full potential
  • Intense focus on building qualitative talent pool for our critical roles to support migrating from reactive to proactive hiring
  • Drive talent sourcing effort toward a higher predictability of success of high potentials implementing formal assessments for selected candidates
  • Build a talent competitive market mapping which will allow us to focus on where are the Talent is that we are looking for (by function, type of industry, location, career path type)
  • Offer a strategic view on acquiring specific skill sets to match business strategic priorities
  • Partner very closely with Talent Management and Talent Acquisition Directors from other Value Centers for any new positions to foster internal promotion and mobility
  • Team up with talent management to measure success post talent acquisition and establish key findings and design improvement plans as needed
  • Engage with leadership, hiring managers, HRBPs and recruiters to step-up as one sourcing and talent acquisition effort. Raise team capability and convert Talent acquisition to become front and center
  • Work jointly with corporate talent and communication teams to enhance our employer branding overall through concrete and continuous action with our various media vehicles, measure progress and define how we differentiate in the market
  • Change agent helping ITT evolve through higher-caliber talent, new skills, new roles, and new organization structures
  • Work closely with the HRIS manager to collect and coordinate aggregate data for talent pool and translate that data into insights through data analysis that drives deliberate action plans at the appropriate levels
  • Develop and implement creative and innovative sourcing strategies and techniques to build a pipeline of qualified candidates
Position Requirements

Candidate Essentials:
  • BS in marketing or public relations, and 10 years' talent acquisition experience, MBA preferred
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Excellent leadership skills, access to and interaction with senior leadership - gaining credibility through successful delivery of expectations
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies
  • Experience with diverse industries - career path with proven track record in search firm(s)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

  • Keen eye for talent - proven ability to source key talent, build talent pipelines, sourcing applicants with the best qualities for the current needs of the role and the business. Career experience in search firm preferred.
  • Strong collaboration and influential capabilities to foster change in our practices, with leadership, HRBP & hiring managers
  • Critical thinking skills to drive core strategic capabilities (connect the dots, design plan btw business priorities and capability requirements)
  • Ability to design, implement and continuously evolve ITT applicant's candidate experience
  • Proven track record of designing transformational programs in the talent space (DEI, hiring, training)
  • Search engine super-user (LinkedIn, Indeed.com) that proactively builds a qualitative talent pool
  • Strong work ethic, accountable, gets things done
