Vantage HCM is searching for a successful Director of Application Development to join our high-performance team. This position will direct the team and technology responsible for all technology architecture and design, quality, and user experience. In this position you will lead and manage a team of people involved in applying technology to achieve a software-based solution supporting ADP's company goals. Leadership includes communicating, promoting teamwork, fostering quality awareness, establishing and maintaining relationships, motivating, rewarding and recognizing achievements, coaching and counseling, monitoring and maintaining group moral and setting an example. Management includes assessing performance and providing feedback, assigning work tasks, identifying and securing training from team members, guiding team members along career paths, managing within budget and schedule requirements, planning and managing projects, providing status reports and ensuring that work in performed in a professional manner and according to established processes and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of programmers and quality assurance engineers in the pursuit of business & technology objectives using Agile methodologies.
• Work closely with Product Management and Business stakeholders on initiatives, objectives, priorities & approach.
• Lead design and development of enhancements and new services.
• Recruits, hires and retains qualified people. Maintains budgeted staffing levels.
• Ensures that team members receive adequate technical, product and effectiveness/skills training to enable them to contribute to the success of the product and to equip each Associate for ongoing professional development.
• Coaches and counsels the team to facilitate the growth and effectiveness of both the group and its individuals.
• Monitors performance and provides frequent feedback to team members to increase technical and product related skills, as well as individual effectiveness.
• Initiates additional training (seminars, special courses, etc.) as needed.
• Work with internal & external parties to plan, architect and integrate services into ADP's ecosystem.
• Proactively manage service infrastructure, operations, monitoring & support.
• Ensure optimal & efficient performance, scalability & capacity in an ever-growing environment.
• Manage releases, migrations and schedules.
• Pursue, lead & cultivate innovation relevant domain
• Ability to prepare and present project status, ideas and analytics to executive level management.

Qualifications:

• Four-year degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• A minimum of seven years' experience in managing software-related application development.
• Must possess good supervisory and interpersonal skills for motivating and developing employees.
• Must be a goal-oriented team builder and collaborator who creates enthusiasm, fosters openness to new ideas and works cooperatively with others
• Strong knowledge of micro service architecture.
• Proven track record with large scale, high performing systems.
• Basic knowledge of micro services stack - Java, AngularJ, NoSQL databases, and SQL/Oracle/Postgres.
• Strong understanding of DevOps & automated change management through Jenkins, Ansible or similar technologies.
• knowledge of AWS.
