The Director, Oncology Global Strategic Insights, will act as a primary insight thought partner to specific NPP commercial teams. They are responsible for providing commercial insights and thought partnership to inform key development and investment decisions for our oncology early pipeline assets. This position reports to a Sr. Director, Oncology Global Strategic Insights, who coordinates insights and analytics support for our Immuno-Oncology and NPP portfolio. They will provide objective commercial insights based on an in-depth understanding and analysis of commercial, clinical, and scientific information, and integrate customer insights from the appropriate set of secondary sources, market research, competitive intelligence, and opportunity assessments. They will take a leadership role in defining and executing necessary insights activities (competitive intelligence, analytics, market research, opportunity assessment) required to support pivotal development decisions for our early oncology assets. Their focus will be on key global markets and occasionally integrate select emerging markets. Their primary stakeholders will include the Global Business Franchise New Products Portfolio (NPP) team, the Global Value Demonstration, Market Access & Pricing (GVAP) team, Global Medical Affairs, Global Portfolio Management & Decision Support and select members of the Global Project Team for assigned assets. Specific activities include:Research and synthesize information from a variety of secondary sources and colleagues to generate a high-level overview of market insights relevant to the asset MOA, tumors of focus and geographies of interest.Generate competitive landscapes at the right level of detail and from appropriate sources, with a focus on core tumors and key MOAs represented in our pipeline indications.Build scenarios and future possible competitive landscapes based on evolving and emerging MOAs and competitors, many of which may still be in early development stages.For priority assets, assist team members in defining key intelligence topics and questions through cross-functional involvement of marketing, medical and clinical.Attend or virtually cover key conference and meetings (ASCO, ESMO, ASCO GI, ASCO GU, World Lung, etc.) for oncology, and help coordinate with other functions (brand teams, medical affairs, clinical) in the ethical collection of competitive intelligence.Lead coordination with other functions (brand teams, medical affairs, clinical) in the ethical collection of competitive intelligence; facilitate cross-functional discussions, develop, and manage KITs/KIQs; lead de-briefs and simulations of competitive scenarios that help embed CI insights into brand plans, strategic plans, and other key business documents.Prepare in-depth analysis of key competitors' strategies, offering insights to support key developmental decision points and milestones; typical analyses might include competitor study benchmarking, informing clinical study design, relevant endpoints, relevant comparators with a future-looking lens.Leverage CI insights into portfolio assessments, strategic plans, and other key business documentsDevelop and maintain annual CI coverage plans and budgets.Quantify the potential sales opportunity of assets at various stages of early development (including First-in-Human, Proof-of-Concept, and registrational trial transitions)Help identify, evaluate, and purchase global secondary data reports and databases and recommend appropriate use.Leverage internal resources and CI agencies to identify and characterize key current and future competitors, predict competitor launch timing and potential drivers of differentiation.Analyze, integrate, and interpret results from analytics, CI and MR to support business decisions for pre-launch assets.Support strategic exercises including indication prioritization and business case development.Occasionally work with GSI market research experts to coordinate qualitative primary market research to elicit the opinions of health care providers, caregivers and patients on metrics and thresholds for meaningful clinical benefit of new medicines Location: Hybrid- The office is currently located in Rockland, MA but is moving to the Boston, MA Seaport in mid-2024.Travel: This position will require 15%-20% domestic and international travel for conferences and internal meetings

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with 8-12 years of experience OR master's degree with 6-8 years of experience or Ph.D. with 5-8 years of experience. 6+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical insights generation including demonstrated ability to compare and recommend appropriate integrated approaches to address business needs.Familiarity with clinical trial databases and services like clinicaltrials.gov, TrialTrove, Cortellis, is required.Demonstrated skills in healthcare analytics and insights is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree level education preferably in science or equivalent experience. Post-graduate degree in a healthcare related field strongly preferred (MS, PhD, MBA)Familiarity with clinical drug development, tumor/cancer biology and solid tumor oncology marketUnderstanding of the challenges and opportunities in the biopharmaceutical industry, and awareness of market stakeholder needs, including health care providers, patients, and payers.Demonstrated ability to rapidly comprehend and articulate how competitive threats and opportunities may impact clinical development program.Experience in secondary and primary CI and market research methodsExperience in design and execution of primary competitive intelligence, including selection of CI vendors, drafting of KITs and KIQs with a sharp scope, and management of conference coverage through to reporting and follow-up.Familiarity with secondary data sources including Clarivate/Decision Resources, Cerner Enviza/Kantar Health, Informa/Datamonitor, Ipsos, Intrinsiq, etc.Familiarity with basic principles of insight generation through analytics and primary market research.Strong strategic skills including ability to see the big picture, conceptual/out of the box thinking, exceptional communication skills are critical.Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills required to effectively communicate insights, tell a story, and inform decisions.Ability to lead a cross-functional discussion in an organized and tactful manner, systematically using supporting information and logic, building, and defending cogent arguments.Ability to organize and manage workload and prioritize tasks; work on multiple projects simultaneously; balance conflicting priorities and manage key stakeholders' expectations through effective communication.
