PRIMARY PURPOSE

This position is responsible to oversee and develop management of all areas of Manufacturing of our Young Touchstone Operations (two sites - Jackson, TN & Lexington, TN). This individual will be responsible for directing activities to ensure customer commitments are met, including on-time shipment, quality standards while meeting company cost objectives. This role requires the incumbent to work in a collaborative manner with other departments daily, as well as being actively involved in developing strategies and initiatives that help grow and optimize all areas within the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a team of people capable of fueling the growth expected and in a manner that fits within both Young Touchstone and Wabtec core beliefs.
  • Supervise staff, including hiring, employee communications, training, discipline, evaluation, and termination responsibilities
  • Coordinate maintenance and safety activities to ensure we provide a safe place for all our employees to work in with equipment that is maintained in a manner that delivers optimum performance and availability.
  • Oversee the implementation and management of manufacturing schedules, personnel requirements, quality assurance, and production standards, and cost objectives
  • Develop plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees
  • Review financial records to assure accuracy
  • Generate frequent forecasting, financial and manufacturing metrics reporting to Management
  • Work hand in hand with production scheduling, engineering, purchasing, and quality to ensure optimized production strategies.
  • Lead a Lean Transformation across Young Touchstone, leveraging an on-site Lean coach and Corporate engagement.
  • Formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.
  • Listen to every idea presented and provide proper consideration before implementing or dismissing.
  • Observe and comply with the company's PPE requirements.
