Eckerd College invites applications for the new position of Director of Inclusive Excellence. The successful candidate, who is expected to join the College in July 2021, will be responsible for leading Eckerd College's efforts to be an exemplar of strengthening diversity, uplifting equity, and honoring inclusion, which are essential for our students, faculty and staff-and the College's mission-to thrive. The Director of Inclusive Excellence will teach in Eckerd's undergraduate program in a related field, facilitate the implementation of the 2021-2025 Strategic Plan vision for DEI, build necessary relationships on and off campus and establish metrics to monitor progress and successful outcomes. This administrative position with teaching responsibilities will teach no more than two classes per academic year and will report to the President and serve as a member of the Executive Staff.

President Damián J. Fernández joined the College in July 2021 and through conversations, research and observations, developed four pillars-one of which was Inclusive Excellence-to guide the College's planning. The College is committed to recruiting more students, faculty, and staff of color and expanding the pipeline of underrepresented students in the sciences and for graduate work in the liberal arts.
