General Description:

The Director of Curriculum and Assessment provides guidance and leadership to support the academic divisions and faculty in the development, implementation, and review of curricula and academic programs; assists faculty in all curricular matters including assessment reporting relating to student learning and program outputs; and coordinates proper and timely submission of all reports to assure adherence to all State Regents and College policies.

Minimum Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree, with significant progress in a Master's program.

Five years successful work experience teaching post secondary education or management experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Five years successful work experience teaching post secondary education or management experience.

A full understanding of assessment of student learning.

Evidence of successful leadership.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sedentary work: The person in this position may occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to faculty, staff, administration, and others to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.

This position requires the person to frequently remain in a standing and stationary position.

This position requires the person to frequently operate a computer, other office machinery, and mobile devices to perform the essential functions of the position.

This position requires the person to frequently operate equipment that involves repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

This position requires the person to frequently position self to access, work on, or operate equipment or materials and/or to assist faculty, staff, and administration.

3. VISUAL ACUITY:
This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.

4. WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position performs the essential functions in an indoor, office setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Curriculum and Assessment.

Community college experience.

Experience and/or training in competency based instruction.

Work Hours:

Monday - Friday 8:00-5:00 with occasional evenings and/or weekends.

Job Duties (Position Specific):

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement):

* Provide leadership, direction, and guidance for the provision of support services that contribute to an improvement in instructional quality.
* Develop the budget for assessment and curricula activities with input from the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs.
* Coordinate the curriculum process, serve as co-chair to the Curriculum Committee, and coordinate the proper and timely submission of curriculum reports to the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, and assure adherence to all State Regents and College policies.
* Coordinate curriculum updates and data with the Graduation and Transfer Office and Institutional Effectiveness.
* Verify the accuracy of information regarding instructional programs and courses within the college catalog.
* Coordinate instructional program reviews, provide guidance to faculty in the program review process.
* Coordinate the proper and timely submission of Low Productivity reports and Post Audit reports to the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, and assure adherence to all State Regents and College policies.
* Coordinate with faculty to offer leadership, guidance, and direction regarding assessment of student learning plans and reports.
* Serve as a resource member to institutional and academic affairs' committee
* Oversee the timely submission of assessment reports and plans. * Develop and revise annually critical instructional documents or publications such as the Curriculum Guide, Faculty Handbook, Adjunct Faculty Handbook and Program Review Handbook.
* Maintain relationships with all internal departments and appropriate external agencies to ensure effective and efficient operation.
* Advise the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Vice President for Academic Affairs on significant matters and support the achievement of institutional goals.

Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures.

Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.

Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.

Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC's established safety and health procedures and practices.

Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation and shelter in place drills and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
