Role Summary/Purpose

The Global Product Quality & Field Services Leader is responsible for product quality performance, warranty administration, global field servicing and commissioning of the Mining Equipment portfolio and for process adherence for mining quality. This role leads business operational aspects including execution of quality/reliability growth projects, developing & executing service strategy, implement change to meet customer commitments and drive growth, create programs responsive to external and customer environment, and participate in cross-functional business initiatives, and cost of poor quality management. The mining team is distributed globally across 13 countries. Values based leadership is critical to keeping this team safe, engaged, focused, and serving customers. Essential Responsibilities

The Global Product Quality & Field Services Leader role :

  • Is responsible for the safety of a diverse, worldwide team working in mine sites and service shops globally. This leadership role ensures Customer Service excellence and implementation of Operation Safety Policy instructions and conduct fieldwork in compliance with all applicable local, government, company and mine regulations and employee safety practices. This leader ensures operational excellence, controllership and compliance for the team and the business.
  • Is responsible for overall management of Product Service Engineers, Fleet Program Manager, Area Service Managers & Customer Service Specialists. Provide effective leadership for a global team regarding salary planning, performance appraisals, career coaching and development, and disciplinary action, as required
  • Is responsible for contract-based performance to customer metrics and for management of Service Contracts.
  • Is responsible for cost of poor-quality financial performance, warranty administration and forecasting and for the overall execution of quality/reliability improvement projects, including customer communication and field campaign negotiation. Ability to deliver to budget, forecast and manage financial risks are essential in this role.
  • Is responsible for the overall truck commissioning and in-service troubleshooting support coordination with customers
  • Works with cross-functional teams to establish launch strategies and support strategies for new product introductions (NPIs). Leadership through influence is key to success in this role. This role also explores and supports new market opportunities to grow the business.
  • Contributes to short term, long-term and strategic business planning with a key leadership focus on quality and customer satisfaction. Frequent communications with senior executives, negotiations, leading through influence is required in this role.
  • Leads reliability and material improvement strategy development and operational execution. Continuous improvement is a way of life for this leader.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Values based leader with a relentless drive for Safety and Continuous improvement
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in field services or quality and reliability, including working with customer and contract management
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in leadership roles including building, growing, and leading complex, diverse, and global teams
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading customer success functions and customer interactions
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, science, or related discipline
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Must be willing and available to travel 33% of the time
  • Job location is Chicago IL, Peoria IL or Dallas Fort-Worth TX.
  • US citizen

  • Six Sigma/Quality training
  • Master's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration
