This position is responsible for Individual Medicare Advantage Go to Market solutions involving Sales and Marketing for Senior Health Services Individual business. Will work closely with the Retail Sales and Marketing Unit to better drive marketing and sales efforts on behalf of Senior Health Services, helping to craft key strategies that will inform the future of these activities. In addition, this role will also work closely with the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association to coordinate overall Medicare marketing efforts with "local" plan efforts supporting alignment of these activities. This role is critical to driving growth of the business and helping SHS close the competitive gap and remain an overall market share leader in this business.

Go to Market, Annual Marketing and Sales Readiness:

  • Provide strategic vision and consultation to inform sales and marketing strategies to ensure strong synergy with Senior Health Services as appropriate co-lead efforts to directly refine these strategies including evaluation of vendor partners
  • Serve as lead business representative providing guidance and feedback into matrix process for driving the development of the annual marketing and sales plan/channel strategies, goals and target setting and the budget
  • Oversee development of an annual timeline (co-led by Marketing, Sales, and SHS) to inform cadence of "go to market" activities
  • Drive feedback and influence key collaterals used in market
  • Lead integration and coordination of BCBSA Medicare campaigns to internal Marketing and Sales efforts
  • For micro-Segment and enhanced marketing effort, lead the definition of required campaigns (AEP for retention and management of switching) and oversee the following:
  • Program management of all campaigns regardless of product line (may require matrix management of other product line leads, e.g., Medicare Supplement, PDP)
  • Orchestration of inputs from key subject matter experts to ensure experience, timing, overlap with other initiatives, etc. do not drive negative member experience
  • Positioning, including tone, messaging, call to action, including coordinating with sales and other downstream entities to ensure readiness (e.g., training, staffing, etc.)
Go to Market Solutions for Provider Arrangements:
  • Serve as the business lead for the development and maintenance of a go to market toolkit for provider arrangements (e.g., ChenMed, Oak Street)
  • Drive discussions to identify and deploy go to market strategies for identified arrangements (with nuanced strategies for prospects vs. existing members)
  • Identify tactics to support attribution
  • Coordinate with Sales to define sales strategies (using provider practices as a new 'channel') (as applicable)
  • Refine go to market messages to include provider value prop (as allowed by CMS)
  • Identify and lead onsite efforts with providers tied to promotion (e.g., Blue and Provider prescription pad for MAPD products)
General
  • Provide vision, leadership, planning, project coordination and management for the development of a cost-effective department while concurrently facilitating efficient operations to meet current and future business needs within the organization.
  • Represent company in community and industry, programs, and conferences.
  • Upon request, function as the department head in the absence of the Vice President.
  • Participate in the development of programs as a strategic partner that supports the company plan.
  • Participate in development of annual departmental budget, monitor budget, and identify budget discrepancies. Research cause and make recommendations.
  • EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION:

    Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare, Marketing, or a related field. Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Continuous learning, as defined by the Company's learning philosophy, is required. Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.

    EXPERIENCE:

    8 years of experience of progressive responsibility in Medicare Advantage and payor organization. Preferred experience in product, strategy, actuary, implementation, marketing, sales and compliance, leading cross-functional teams. Project management experience with demonstrated technical knowledge that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required. 5 years supervisory or lead experience required. Familiarity with CMS and compliance guidance required.

    SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:
  • Knowledge of tracking and status reporting.
  • Ability to identify and quickly resolve issues which may impede new product implementation and ongoing product performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to conduct presentations and facilitate meetings.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple project and timelines.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills including the ability to interact with internal and external customers and all levels of the organization.

  • Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office, Power Point).
  • Must demonstrate leadership ability and team building skills to effectively supervise professional and non-professional staff and interact with all levels of management.
  • Ability to work with and empower others on a collaborative basis to ensure success of unit team.
  • Ability to effectively exchange information, in verbal or written form, by sharing ideas, reporting facts and other information, responding to questions, and employing active listening techniques.
  • Ability to establish workflows, manage multiple projects, and meet necessary deadlines
  • Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards.
