Duties Include:

Behavioral Health Services Oversight and Training:

  • In collaboration with the clinical team, establishing and maintaining systems that enable the provision of internal therapeutic services to LifeMoves clients. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Establishing and overseeing protocols for services
  • Managing referrals and triage
  • Providing group supervision and didactics to doctoral students
  • Providing weekly supervision for up to 8 practicum students
  • Being available by phone to support students in addressing crises
  • Responding to schools' inquiries, contracts, and evaluation forms re: their students' work.
  • Communicating with program staff about client or student issues
  • Overseeing Associate Director of Behavioral Health around supervision, training, and related needs
  • Overseeing and supporting Associate Director of Behavioral Health in tasks related to doctoral psychology student recruitment and selection
  • Working with Associate Director of Behavioral Health and MSW Director to establish student didactic schedule and identify new trainers as needed
  • Conducting trainings consistent with the Director's skills and the practicum students' needs
  • Conducting occasional behavioral health-related trainings for staff
  • Providing group supervision and training to master's-level associate staff members when needed
Relationships, Future Directions, and Staff Support:
  • In collaboration with the clinical team, establishing direction and implementing interventions to target improved behavioral health outcomes of LifeMoves clients. This may include:
  • Facilitating pilot projects with the aim of improving behavioral health and housing outcomes for clients
  • Determining ways that behavioral health factors impact client outcomes and working with team to identify and implement program-based interventions to target these issues.
  • Collaborating with partners to implement youth wellness interventions
  • Working with LifeMoves team to identify and build relationships with community behavioral health resources and partners to provide appropriate support to clients, and establishing a system to maintain relationships at the agency level.
  • In partnership with the HR Department and clinical team, providing staff support and wellness opportunities as needed.
Administrative and Financial:
  • Monitoring and managing the program budget.
  • Collecting and collating data for grant reports and acting as point person for contract targets.
  • Acting as point person for compliance/data needs as well as having oversight of student reporting as related to compliance.
  • Working with LifeMoves Grants and Compliance Teams, write grant reports and applications.
Position Qualifications

  • PhD, PsyD, or EdD in clinical psychology with a valid California license in psychology.
  • Maintains all supervision requirements (6 hours supervision CE hours per license term).
  • Experience working with a disenfranchised population, treating individuals and families in crisis, especially those who have experienced trauma.
  • Extensive knowledge of clinical theory and brief evidence-based behavioral interventions, and significant experience in the practice of counseling therapy and clinical supervision. Knowledge of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) framework a plus but not required.
  • A strong foundation in the ideas and practices that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging; and a commitment to ongoing professional development in this area.
  • Effective communicator and skilled in maintaining relationships within the agency and with external stakeholders.
