Responsible for providing patient services using medical ultrasound under the supervision of a physician responsible for the use and interpretation of ultrasound procedures.

  • Performs appropriate ultrasound procedures and records anatomical pathological and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
  • Assists the physician in gathering sonographic data necessary to diagnose a variety of conditions and diseases.
  • Obtains reviews and integrates pertinent patient medical history and supporting clinical data to facilitate optimum diagnostic results. 
  • Provides patient education related to medical ultrasound.
  • Records and processes sonographic data.
  • Provides patient services in a variety of medical settings.
  • Performs quality assurance checks on equipment ensuring proper safety standards are met.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $30.74 - $49.18 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduate of an Allied Health program with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree required.  A degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.

Experience: No experience required.  Diagnostic Medical Sonography experience preferred.

License/Certification: ARRT(S), ARDMS (AB) and/or ARDMS (OB) certification required.  Registered Vascular Technologist certification required within 6 months of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: (computer keyboard).  Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs.  May be exposed to cold, dust, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
