Job Description

As a member of the Vehicle Motion Embedded Controls (VMEC) DevOps team you will be responsible to:

  • Support and develop automation solutions that enable our agile software teams to build and deploy code efficiently and consistently
  • Build and support a CI/CD infrastructure utilizing Gerrit, Jenkins, Artifactory, and Docker
  • Implement monitoring processes, design/build/deploy monitoring dashboards
  • Support the delivery of production capable embedded software for GM vehicles
  • Apply SAFe agile SDLC principles
  • Promote DevOps principles and culture
  • Ensure that systems have reliability and availability appropriate for customer needs
  • Leverage and recommend automation technologies that result in fast provisioning and appropriate reliability
  • Prepare and present design and implementation documentation to effectively communicate to a broad audience of peers, users, and other stakeholders
  • Provide Level 2 technical support
  • Mentor and coach other engineers in this role

Additional Job Description

Minimum Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering/Computer Science
  • Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience with developing software in Java, Python, Perl, Bash, etc.
  • Basic understanding of DevOps principles

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Master Degree in Engineering/Computer Science
  • 5 years of relevant experience with developing software in Java, Python, Perl, Bash, etc.
  • 2 years of supporting continuous integration/deployment deliverables
