NASCAR Event Management seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Design Engineer based in our Concord, North Carolina office.

The Design Engineer will generate ideas, conceptual designs, CAD models, and engineering drawings for a variety of assignments related to aerodynamics, safety, and competition aspects of race vehicles.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with aerodynamics engineering and competition teams to create and execute design solutions and support any and all projects as needed.
  • Generate ideas and concepts in support of the aerodynamics team using CATIA V6 to support prototyping and CFD work.
  • Formulate, design, and coordinate fabrication of inspection fixtures, prototype components, and test components to support wind tunnel testing and competition needs.
  • Coordinate and communicate with external suppliers related to various projects.
  • Interest and willingness to learn aspects of race car aerodynamics, CFD, 3D printing and machining.
Required skills / experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree.
  • Experience in modeling and surfacing in CATIV V6 is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate would have an interest in race car aerodynamics and mechanical design.
  • Exceptional team and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel 10%, including weekends.
  • Attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude and passion for marketing and sports.
  • Ability to help organize, draft and deliver presentations to department leadership and industry partners.
