The Design director UX will report to the Director, Product Management Digital Marketing within the Brand and Creative organization. The Brand and Creative organization consists of Brand Strategy, Content, Design, Media Production, Web, Social Media, and Project Management teams within the Global Corporate Marketing organization. 

 

The work the Brand and Creative team delivers allows Intuitive to increase brand awareness and understanding, successfully launch products and services, and support the growth of the global business through broad advertising and promotional tactics across earned and owned channels and experiences. 

 

What you'll do

  • Lead UX Design of our web and digital marketing efforts across Intuitive owned global channels including Intuitive.comdavincisurgery.com, and specific digital campaign initiatives
  • Establish best practices for how we create and optimize our design system for usability and performance against business metrics
  • Form strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and team members to support the launch of new products, campaigns, and initiatives in service of business growth
  • Mentor other designers and help elevate the quality and useability of our collective output to drive business performance

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product Management, Front-End Development, Clinical and Product Marketing, Content Strategy, Design, and other team members to create compelling product launch experiences that drive marketing KPI's of Intuitive.com and other Intuitive owned digital channels
  • Collaborate with our Competitive Intelligence and Human Factors teams to better understand audience needs and define visitor journeys
  • Use your skills as a conceptual thinker, visual storyteller, and designer to illustrate user journeys and share your vision with partners
  • Deliver end-to-end user experiences that meet audience needs, achieve business goals, and optimize technical realities across mobile and web platforms with exacting attention to detail
  • Articulate ideas and concepts through compelling visual designs and prototypes to excite and align with internal stakeholders, peer team members, and developers
  • Deliver complete user experience designs—progressively building wireframes, interactive prototypes, UI specifications, visual designs, and interaction and animation specifications to support development and launch
  • Partner with design and front-end development team members to realize UX designs and scale solutions across Intuitive owned digital channels
  • Initiate or join efforts across the org to create momentum around the user-centered design development process
  • Facilitate cross-functional audience definition, user interviews, problem definition, requirements gathering, feature brainstorming, and other definitional workshops
  • Utilize a range of qualitative and quantitative user research insights to inform design decisions and help the team eliminate experience blind spots
  • Leverage research and success metrics to focus your team's efforts and continuously optimize solutions
  • Evangelize UX best practices to our global partners and stakeholders
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and Agile design culture
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of documentation practices, formal design and continuous integration/deployment

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12+ years of UX/UI design experience working in an Agile product development environment
  • Minimum of 5+ years of direct people management
  • Proponent of Agile/Scrum processes and ceremonies used to scale design teams
  • Proven track record for delivering successful design solutions in service of launching consumer or B2B products campaigns
  • Expert in user-centered design, information architecture, UI visual design, storytelling, and rapid prototyping
  • Demonstrated proficiency around HTML, CSS, Javascript, Node.js, Github, web development and digital marketing
  • Exhibit a high standard of creativity and craft in service of your desire to create design work that exceeds business expectations
  • Adept at using research and building understanding of how the latest web and mobile technologies impact the feasibility and performance of specific solutions
  • Proficient using design tools including Figma, Sketch, Framer, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Mural or equivalent
  • Experience facilitating interactive cross-functional work sessions
  • Empathetic and curious individual able to connect insights with opportunity
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, interaction design, or equivalent field of study
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Strong portfolio of web and native app designs that demonstrate the depth of your experience and capability is required to apply for the role
