Position: Data Scientist
Job Location: 221 River Street, Hoboken, NJ 07030
Duties: Identify opportunities and business problems and frame them into advanced data analytics project initiatives. Extract available and relevant data from internal and external data sources to perform data science solution development. Perform exploratory data analysis to verify data quality and data integrity. Develop standard statistical models, machine learning, or deep learning algorithms for building diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive data science solutions. Engineer new features by using business acumen to improve data science solutions. Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to deploy data science solutions into production. Communicate results and ideas to key decision-makers in a concise, meaningful way that can be easily understood by business counterparts. Develop ML forecasting models to predict volume of loads and miles for both inbound and outbound from various legs of first mile and middle mile transportation. Apply broad knowledge of ML/AI capabilities to identify growth areas and new and emerging opportunities.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related field; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related field and 2 years of experience in an analytics or related field.
Skills required: Experience coding in an object-oriented programming language (Python, Spark, or R). Experience designing and implementing Rest API using Python. Experience analyzing and designing databases and queries in SQL and NoSQL. Experience designing and implementing cloud computing architecture and data pipelines including Azure, GCP, and databricks. Experience designing and maintaining Machine Learning, time series forecasting, reinforcement learning, and deep learning models. Experience building data visualizations using Tableau, Looker, and PowerBI. Experience with algorithmic design and analysis. Experience developing large-scale ML/AI solutions. Experience with agile methodologies using project planning and tracking management tool JIRA. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
