Location: REMOTE
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Data Architect to join their Enterprise Business Intelligence team. This position is fully remote within the United States. Not open to Corp-to-Corp or Independent Contractors.

Required Skills: SQL, dimensional data modeling (Ralph Kimball methodology)

Nice to have: AWS S3, Redshift, Teradata

Location: 100% remote

Interview Process: 2 rounds

Responsible for developing strategies for data warehouse implementation. Performs analyses of data design, database architecture, metadata, and data structure. Interacts with user community to produce BI and data warehouse designs. Responsible for prototyping solutions, preparing test scripts, and conducting tests and for data replication, extraction, loading, cleansing, and data modeling for data warehouses.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary contact within project working team to fully understand and contextualize business problems and opportunities - via discovery on business use cases and related data lineage in our ecosystem, formal internal requirements gathering/documentation, etc. - attributed to broader project efforts, as well as "business as usual" enhancement requests, in order to streamline and catalyze engagements with external business partners

• Support technical leads and product owners in developing broader vision/roadmaps, as well as functional specifications for recommended system implementation (i.e. analyzes work processes, data relationships, and business needs to translate into reporting, system and/or business process requirements)

• Leads business readiness activities for field-related deployment efforts, including validation (QA) efforts, soliciting feedback from key frontline employees, and driving tactics on engagement and enablement to evangelize the garnered efficiencies and benefits for the field

• Conduct ad-hoc analysis as needed

Foundational/Technical Skills & Qualifications:

• 6+ years of relevant experience participating in business intelligence projects, process documentation, data consolidation, data integration, etc.

• Experience with data architecture/data modeling dimensional modeling (Kimball approach) is required

• Advanced knowledge of SQL is required

• Experience in data modeling tools such as Power Designer, ERWin, or ERStudio is required

• Professional experience with Teradata, AWS, Hadoop, and Hive is a plus

• Knowledge of business intelligence/reporting platforms (e.g. Tableau) is preferred, but not required

• Demonstrated experience in translating high-level business objectives and strategic imperatives to refined, as well as the ability to break down complex technical jargon into business context; this person should be able to the business and tech speak to developers

• Educational degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Sciences, Data Analytics, or related discipline is required

• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts

• Advanced problem-solving abilities with the demonstrated ability to effectively learn new business tools and processes

• Ability to lead and champion end-to-end project workflow

• Self-motived and works at a high-level independently, even with limited or ambiguous requirements/direction

•Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile development methodologies will be helpful, but not required
