About the General Motors Customer Experience Team:
GM's Customer Experience Team innovates and drives business value with solutions that provide Best-in-Class user experiences across the GM ecosystem. The Customer Experience Technical team designs these experiences across all vehicle, back office, and channel technologies so as to create a synergistic, holistic, and global end-to-end customer journey.

About the Role:
A CX Assistant Technical Planning Manager is responsible for executing development CX technical strategy and investment portfolio plan, evaluating risks, analyzing value, tracking execution and results, implementing processes improvements and facilitating communication to the Customer Experience team. This role requires experience in Agile software product development as well as a working knowledge of GM product development processes.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have a technical background with the ability to support a large software development portfolio, execute and maintain a multi-year CX technical strategy, manage the CX investment portfolio planning process, summarize CX lean portfolio business cases (deliverables, benefits, timing), assess execution of CX technical initiatives to investment plans and business cases, analyze and report out on key performance indicators, handle special assignments with ambiguity, develop and conduct presentations for all levels of management, and identify and implement process improvements. The desire to learn and a relentless need for improvement is imperative for this role.

      Minimum Qualifications:
      • A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or related experience
      • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools
      • 3+ years of experience of product and portfolio planning tools (e.g., Aha!, HP PPM, Project Server, Planview)
      • 3+ years of working knowledge of agile practices with understanding of how this impacts portfolio planning
      • 3+ years of experience in multiple software development disciplines (e.g., Agile, SAFe, Scrum, SDLC)
      • Able to communicate cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings through written and verbal channels
      • Collaborative mindset to create the best solutions
      • Intellectual agility and creativity to anticipate obstacles and identify alternatives
      • Self-starter with experience in producing results through influence of peer organizations

      Preferred Qualifications:
      • A master's degree in a technical discipline, or the background and experience that demonstrates a similar level of strong programming skills and practices and management of large technical portfolios
      • Experience with BI reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
      • Experience with software development
      • Superior analytical capability (including financial analysis) supporting complex problem solving and identifying/correcting errors encountered
      • Ability to create meaningful key performance indicators (KPIs) and methods to track and report on status
      • Influencing and coaching/mentoring skills to champion change
      • Strong technical background with software development and technical delivery
