We are looking for an experienced ControllerTraining Contract (CTC) Instructor to join the SAIC TEAM providing air trafficcontroller training services for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The Federal AviationAdministration (FAA) is responsible for ensuring that air traffic controlspecialists provide the flying public with a high level of safety andprofessionalism. A well-trained Air Traffic Control (ATC) workforce plays anessential role in fulfilling this responsibility. The FAA employs more than14,000 air traffic controllers. They work in air traffic facilities of varyingsizes, safely separating more than 50,000 aircraft in the National AirspaceSystem (NAS) each day.
Qualifications
The CTC Instructor is a hands-on positionthat requires the candidate to effectively and consistently deliver the highestquality classroom and simulation laboratory training to a wide variety ofstudents including developmental air traffic controllers and certifiedprofessional controllers (CPC). This position will provide mentoring forstudents and Remote Pilot Operators (RPO) as well as participate in curriculumdesign and development. The selected candidate must demonstrate the knowledgeand skills applicable for obtaining radar and/or non-radar simulationlaboratory certifications at FAA air traffic control facilities within the U.S.National Airspace System.
The CTC Instructorcandidate must have a minimum of five (5) years recent Certified ProfessionalController experience controlling live traffic, or recent experienceinstructing FAA personnel. The recent experience must have been performed at asimilar type and level of ATC facility as the Anchorage Air Traffic Control Center.The successful candidate for this position must demonstrate strong technicalskills with current ATC automation, simulation systems and procedures.
Candidates with direct experience as a CPC atthe Anchorage Air Traffic Control Center willhave priority selection for the position. Operational Experience with ATCsimulators. Demonstrated ability tointerface effectively with FAA personnel at all levels to ensure the deliveryof training services meet the needs of the local facility, as well as the FAA’soverall Air Traffic Control mission is highly desired.
Certified Professional Controller (CPC)certification required.
