The Department of Residence Life is housed within the Division of Student Affairs. It is comprised of 60+ full-time staff and 180+ graduate and undergraduate student staff. What we want

We are seeking to hire a Creative Manager to provide cohesive, creative, visual direction for all our deliverables. We foresee this person will work with all the units across the Department of Residence Life to develop, manage, and reinforce the University's brand and visual standards on printed materials, digital, social media and multimedia platforms. We are looking for someone who has project management skills, and working knowledge of print processing equipment and software and design. Proficiency or mastery of related applications, including Adobe CreativeSuite (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office is a plus to serve in this position.   • Two creative portfolio pieces (pieces that you have used for previous projects or two items that you would like to create) that showcase your ability to tell a story. These pieces could be in a variety of mediums; web, video, print, etc. are requested.

    A print piece that you feel specifically speaks to the mission of Residence Life is also requested. The intended audience include: incoming students, parents and families who might be attending a new student conference resource fair. Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five years professional experience in graphic design, marketing or art/creative direction

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in brand implementation and maintenance as well as making supporting communications-related product recommendations
  • Project management from conception to delivery in a timely manner and on budget
  • Working knowledge of print processing equipment and software, as well as design
  • Proficiency or mastery of related applications, including Adobe CreativeSuite (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

Preferred Education:

  • Master's degree in graphic design

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to use SLR digital camera to produce professional quality photographs in accordance with the Texas A&M University Brand Guide

Responsibilities:

  • Visual Media, Social Media, and Multimedia - Works with appropriate personnel in the department and across campus to create engaging artwork, photography, and other multimedia components to enhance the strategic goals of the department, along with the department website, department social media outlets and videos produced. Is responsible for managing the overall direction and quality of all visual media, leading development of related concepts and creative strategies, and ensuring consistency with brand and communication goals.
  • Branding - In coordination with the University and the Division of Student Affairs, develops and implements a brand strategy and marketing plan.
  • Visual Creative Identity and Messaging - Provides cohesive creative direction and messaging in all projects and deliverables to integrate, align, and reinforce department and university branding across all mediums in collaboration with the director, marketing committee, and website committee. Assists the Executive Director in responding to media inquiries.
  • Graphic Design -Designs, prints, and produces promotional materials and collateral in a variety of mediums, including traditional print, electronic, social, and multimedia for a variety of internal and external audiences. Works with printing companies and related vendors to deliver high quality, cost-effective solutions within branding requirements.
  • Special Events- Assists in the planning and implementation of special events, as well as coordinates and develops the promotional materials of events such as, but not limited to, Aggieland Saturday, New Student Conferences, prospective student events and resource fairs.
  • Service/Outreach- Serves as a liaison, resource, and mentor to the department's units and as an advocate within the University design community to ensure effective representation and implementation of the department s branding initiatives and overall communication strategy. Serves as the chair of the Marketing Committee and the Website Committee. Serves on the Division of Student Affairs Marketing Committee.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
