Purpose

• This position plays an integral role within the Contracting and Procurement "CP" organization related to supporting process improvement, sourcing and contracting activities as required.

Position Overview

• Reports to Manager, Process Improvement
• Evaluates business processes, requirements and uncovers areas for improvement while developing and implementing solutions
• Supports various sourcing activities and provides support to the overall sourcing strategy
• Works with internal stakeholders, external third parties, and the CP Team to continuously improve processes & systems and increase value
• Ensures that Contracting and Procurement is a positive, significant, and value adding integral partner to Motiva

Responsibilities

• Drives process improvements across CP with various stakeholders such as suppliers and internal customers. Requires intensive collaboration with cross functional teams to deliver the business improvement strategy, tools, processes, training, and metrics which drive continuous improvement of CP processes.
• Works cross-functionally to execute sourcing processes and can effectively source segments and/or commodities with medium value and complexity
• Supports Category Managers during complex sourcing initiatives through data modeling, analysis and new process/strategy execution.
• Aids in the development of bids/specifications in such a manner that internal customer needs are addressed and analyzes bid packages to develop any awareness of associated risks with key stakeholders
• Leads Category market research efforts as requested
• Assesses supplier capabilities and performance through KPI analysis and makes recommendations to Category Managers.
• Continuously communicates to and aligns with business partners on CP initiatives and changes, including implementation plans. Engages with other Motiva business functions to influence improvements that contribute inputs and outputs to CP processes to ensure process integrity and control.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• 0-5 years Procurement or relevant experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability and positive attitude
• Knowledge of SAP, Ariba, Microsoft Suite Applications (Outlook, Power BI, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Manufacturing / Refinery experience preferred
• Sourcing, Negotiations and Contract experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and in a strong team environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
